Bov Question

NGR has from what Ive seen, really good reviews. They obviously have a good diaphragm. However even though 160 $ is still a good price for a quality BOV, Im still trying to pinch pennys. So My question is this, Ebay knockoff 30$ Type S, with the 40$ NGR Diaphragm = 70$ quality Type S BOV... right? If anyone has done this let me know, Here are my source parts.

Looking at the picture, I don't think that ebay BOV uses a diaphragm. It looks like it uses a piston.

Honestly, just pick yourself up a nice ngr bov and call it a day if you are looking for a cheap quality bov....I actually lucked out and got a hks ssqv series 1 for dirt cheap....If you can find one of those you would not be let down though.

I love the 1g crushed bov, I just miss the 90s Whistle of the Greddy S, NGR's has one that sounds legit. If I can fit their diaphragm into something cheaper ill be happy. Put that saved money into buying something else. HKSSQV is sweet though, just a tad Expensive. All the type 's Ive seen out there are way over priced for a leaky POS . I love the whistle it gives... but I'm not paying an arm and leg for it. It would be nice if someone tried this out. I know im not the only one with this idea.

The quality of the ebay valve will still be shitty. I'd by a us PR Type-S and use there diaphragm if anything.

It's kinda hard to beat $30 shipped for a 1G, and you can polish them really easy, the sound great, they can recirc/or vent, and for anything under 30 psi you would be in the money. I am sure there are plenty that have gone over 30psi...

With the money you saved you could....

Well I have a few 1g Bovs if anyone wants to trade, that will be even cheaper, I have the crushed and regular, up to you. Parts too, let me know, either way if anyone tried to us the ebay bov with the diaphragm from ngr... let me know

Thats what makes me wonder if I could fit it into the ebay knock off... I have heard other people using true greddy with the ngr diaphragm

I'm pretty sure you could find a greddy type-s for pretty cheap. I have one on my starion and it sounds pretty cool. I picked it up for around 30 bucks. I payed 175 for it and my hks ssqv

The ebay knockoffs aren't really that bad actually they held boost fine for me when i had my GST. I was running 18 i never went over that but if your not planning on running a whole lot it worked for me as i said just my .02

what does it mean to crush it does it make it louder? or will it leak or anything?

It just compresses the spring, there's a write up on how to do it, works really well under alot of boost. Can't beat it for free or 30$ for 2g

I have just finished a leak test of my intake system, only to find out that my 1g bov lets go at 5psi I hooked the 2g system back up and it lets go at 4psi. I was told that the 1g would hold up to 21? Will crushing my 1g solve this? how do I know when to stop crushing?

Using a knock-off type s with NGR diaphragm and how it works. But I think I have one that is like yours. Orange but slightly different color and texture than NGR. Thinking about getting the NGR diaphragm but not sure...
