BOV nipple?

Just came from looking at the form to install the greddy type s bov. I have a hose disconnected from my greddy type s bov. The nipple for the hose is found on the opposite side of the dump tube that expels exces boost.

I am wondering how will my car run with this hose detached? Where would i attach this hose to? Is this hose nesesary to proper operating procedures? Where would i be able to buy this hose?

I bought the car with the bov installd so i do not have the vacum hose for that nipple. Help would be appreceated.

is it a little port sticking out from the BOV?, sorta pointing toward the intake manifold?, and is there an open port on the front, left side of your intake manifold?
 
there needs to be a hose running from the top of the bov(in your case) to the intake manifold, you an use just about any silicon hose, i think its the 3mm hose, could be 2 though
 
while under boost, pressure is pushing up, while the exact same amount of pressure is pushing down which is coming from this hose, this keeps the bov closed, then as soon as you let off the throttle, boost in the manifold is cut off by the throttle body butterfly valve, vaccum is now in the intake manifold which pulls on the BOV and allows the presurized air left in the IC piping to push its way up and be released through the BOV and into the intake to help the turbo stay spooling between shifts. NOw that we cleared up what the BOV is used for, you need that hose,LOL
 
OP: Please clarify which hose/nipple you are referring to. If you're referring to the bottom nipple on the underside of the BOV body, just leave it alone. Some people prefer to cap it, some don't. On some applications, you're supposed to hook that hose up to a pressure source to help the action of the valve, but in the case of the DSM, it's best left unhooked up.

As long as the top nipple is connected to the intake manifold, you'll be fine.

Edit: And don't forget to recirculate if you're not already doing so.
 
I have read up on the type s. I found that if you hook that other nipple up to a pressure source that will give the type s its TING sound over the typical bov pssshh sound.
