BOV fitting

Ok, I just got my car back from a $3000 timing belt/head job. Anyways, they found a vacuum hose loose and asked me if i knew where it went. I had no idea. Today though, after removing my air can, and trying to figure something out to get more air to my k&n, I see that there is a fitting on my BOV that has nothing on it. All I'm wondering is if there is supposed to be anything attached. Here is a pic of what I am talking about. Fitting in question is at the top right corner on this pic. Thanks in advance.

yes, that vaccum fitting needs to be hooded up. It a vaccum line that runs to the intake manifold, and tells the BOV to open and close, when you let off the gas, or when are boosting. The line is also useable when installing a MBC.

Also, there is a special nipple on the intake manifold specifically for that purpose. Use this, as other vaccum sources may not work as well.

Right on, thanks guys. I wonder if this is why I'm only running 6psi now? Prob has nothing to do with it...i still kinda think i have low compression on the 2 cylinders that never bent valves. Thanks again guys!

WOW! no low compression here! I hooked that vacuum line up, and now I'm pulling 10psi. Damn...the car has only ever pulled like 7psi since i got it, and i was raping 5.0's. THANKS again guys! My car has never pulled like this before! I know I prob sound ### blabbin bout 10 whopping psi, but what a diff! THANK YOU DSMTUNERS!!!!

Yep, you probably had a decent sized boost leak if your hose was just hanging there not hooked up to anything. You should see an increase in gas mileage as well as prolonged life of your turbo.
