well ive been arounds dsm's for a while and just now decided to get one. 92 talon tsi awd. first i knew it needed a starter and replaced that. to then only find it is making the same really bad grinding noise...my guess it would be the flywheel, but while changing the starter the little teeth we could see were there. the car does start just doesnt sound good. second its been sitting for about four month and when the guy ( hes had it since 98 and said it ran good then he parked it when the starter started making noise) parked it it was running fine. now its running on two cylinder and we pulled the wires and it doesnt die when number 1 and 2 are pulled. im getting a working coil tomorrow and hopefully that is it. any imput on anyone?

Nice. the interior looks fantastic

what's the reason behind the BOV being flipped upside down?

yeah i wanna work on it this weekend but im going camping Saturday and tomorrow hopefully i can work on it even though i might go with a friend to trade for a laser rs turbo fwd. but any ideas on the whole not firing in cylinder 1 and 2? and idk why the bov is upside down, never noticed it and it was the way i got it.

well i changed out the injectors and it runs good as new. im done driving it though because of the whole flywheel missing teeth.

First thing to do is completely gut it into a tub (dash and all), get a racing seat cover (LOL) then get your state inspection. Not necessarily in that order.

Now would be a good time to spray paint the wheels gunmetal grey and sand the hood and hit it with black primer.

EDIT: Just joking about the dash.

haha. well im parking it till its fixed. anyone got a good idea for a clutch. i figure while its out change the clutch.

What are your goals with the car?

Probably mostly bolt ons. Fast enough but still daily drivable. Most likely a sprung 2100 or 2600. I really don't have a set goal right now besides get it running right

If you aren't going to be launching it I'd stay with the stock clutch. My 2100 had a spring pop out not to long ago killing my flywheel and pressure plate.... and obviously the clutch itself.

ill most likely lauch it once or twice till i get money for a better trans, like i said idk what im doing to it besides making it road ready. i just figure while the trans is out prepare for the future

I'd be careful with the stock clutch, I bought my car ('90 Talon TSi FWD) with a stock replacement clutch, and it would begin to slip with anything over the 13psi power level on the stock 14B. I'm thinking about trying to source a ACT2100 now so I can run the 15-17 psi I tried for a week or two prior to the clutch slip.

I'm running 20psi on my 14b, and launching pretty hard at the track and it's still holding.

I'd go with either a stock clutch or 2100 with sprung disc.

yeah idk its between a 2100 and 2600
