I recently purchased my 2nd gsx. Its a 96 auto. Got it for 1500 with a bad t-25 and some very minor collision damage. I have two questions that i have concerns about before i start driving it.
1.I know it has boost leaks. I have already replaced the turbo with a good used t-25 with no shaft play. When the turbo spools up it seems very quiet (unlike my other gsx which is loud) and it feels like it is straining to move. I expect this from a car that has sat for two years. Other than a boost leak test is there anything else I should check and what is the most common leak spots.
2. On the BCS there are two vacuum lines, one goes to the wastegate, and the other is suppose to go to the intake snorkel. The problem is that the intake snorkel does not have a third nipple for the vacuum line. Instead the line is capped off and thrown aside. Should I add a nipple to the intake or T it into another vacuum line? I don't think it is a good idea to leave it capped.
Thanks for all the help. I'm kind of new to DSM's and turbo cars in general so bear with me
