2G Bottom of rear bumper sagging

What have you guys done with the very bottom of the rear bumper? There's some bolts that go into a very rusty metal bracket which attaches to the spare tire compartment.
Mine seems to hang pretty low. Can I bend that bracket up more, make my own bracket, trim it off entirely?

Usually I would just go out and do something about it but it's hot and I'd rather stay on my computer

I believe you have answered your own question .. I would remove the rusty bracket and make a new one ... but stay on your computer till the weather is right for the job..

If you're able to bend it without it breaking due to rust, do it. Then take time making a new one and getting new bolts.
