Whats Up? I appreciate all the help you guys are giving me and it's helped persuade my decision making when upgrading my DD....Anyways, Right now I have Bosch Platinum 4 spark plugs and wires on my car, will these work as well as the NGK when it comes to nitrous, because I want to upgrade my car to nitrous here in a couple of weeks....
Next ?, I have an Automatic Transmission as you all probably know already. I want to add a tranny cooler to it, but i don't understand the difference. What kind do i need to invest in? Would 16,000 GVW work? And Do I need to find one that specifically fits my car? Thanks again!

Copper core plugs will work much better with our ignition system than platinum plugs. NGK BKR6E-11 or BKR6ES-11 are the preferred plugs for stock engines. Try using BKR7E-11/BKR7ES-11 with nitrous, and read your plugs every once and a while. If you find them fouling, go back to the 6's, if they are getting hot, step up to 8's. Driving habits will decide which heat range you need. (BTW NGK coppers are well under $2 each.)

Thanx again for the info, I looked at the plugs and just ordered some, $2.95 is great!!!! Do the wires matter? And Also, With the tranny cooler, i'm sure it's recommended to run one with nitrous, does the GVW or lbs capacity matter with the Nitrous, should i get the biggest one possible?

Don't get the biggest possible LOL. Look where your factory tranny cooler is located, and evaluate how much bigger you can go and still have a simple install. Take some measurements and then make your decision. effeciency is whats important here.

Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about.:thumb:

I've heard nothing but bad things about the BOSCH platinums. Not only by personal experience, but a couple owners of local/reputable tuner shops have told me first hand as well.

But Shouldn't I run the stock and the Aftermarket together??? Wouldn't that be the most efficient? I read somewhere else on the forum that by running both of them together like this
Transmission > Radiator cooler > Auxiliary cooler > then Back to the transmission. Isn't that the most efficient? I could put the aftermarket inside the front bumper to cool it..does that sound right?
As far as the plugs....I got some today....What about Coils and Wires?? I got Bosch Wires, will those work? And what about coil upgrades.....?

Bosch wires will work just fine.

You shouldn't need to upgrade from the stock ignition coil until you find yourself running ridiculously small plug gaps to prevent mis-firing.

What would you define a small plug gap as? .25, .27, .30? I think the stock BOSCH's are set to .35 from the box, but I'm not too sure. I've set mine to .30 or .32 for 8psi...

Sure you could do that, not sure if that would be most efficient by any means, but it will definately do the job. One much larger cooler with many more fluid passeges would probably be the most "effective", but both will work. Just make sure both have good open access to ambient air and arent smothered by heat from the engine bay.

coil upgrades? We can do it, but not by just swapping the coil pack. A little more complicated and expensive to effectivly do on these cars. Not running high boost? then blowing out spark really should not be a problem.

What is too small would be relative, but IMHO if you have to run a gap ~0.024" or smaller, it is probably time for a stronger ignition. Thats just my opinion, though.

Don't forget that we do have a couple bolt-on coil pack "upgrades" available; MSD's 36,000V coil pack #MSD-8229, and the Screamin' Demon 40,000V coil pack #31732. Both appear to have longevity issues, though.

But I completely agree with you, he should be fine with the stock ignition system.

for drag racing applications i recomended a tranny cooler keeps torqe converter from over heating and sliping if brake boosting

I have the MSD coil pack and wires, but I wouldn't neccessarily call them an "UPGRADE". Seeing as how it puts out 36,000 volts of secondary voltage identical to the OEM. The Screemin Demon puts out 40,000 volts of secondary voltage which would be a slight upgrade, but not enough of an upgrade to justify spending the money.

On a side note, IMO, never ever ever, run with bosh platinum 4's.....I've seen nothing but bad things happen to cars running them...If they don't have the NGK's at a store and you need to have some kind of spark plugs...I would just go with the basic generic bosh's or even better denso, or Autolites....

This is a note to any newbies out there who are having issues with your car and are running bosh platinum 4's, trying changing those out first..it may not be the whole problem, but its a very good start towards a working solution.

Noobie here. What's the difference between BKR6E-11 and BKR6ES-11? I have a 2G-GST with 16G turbo upgrade...

I run nology silver L4YS spark plugs in mine which I like better then copper because silver is the best electrical and thermal conductor of any metal.

BKR plugs wont work for you. Use BPR's for your 4g63.

The "S" I believe is for "Standard", while the one without the "S" has a notch on the bottom of the electrode. (Could be the other way around, though, but I'm pretty confident in this without checking.)

Or leave the store and find one that does have the NGKs in-stock.

After having all sorts of problems with Bosch plugs, I will never, ever run them again. NGK all the way.
