hey guys. i am ordering a head gasket and all the timing components for my 1990 eagle talon tsi awd today(6bolt obviously). punishment racing has a deal going on with head gasket and head bolts but i have one problem. what is the stock bore size on my 6 bolt 4g63 turbo? is it 85.5, or 86, or 87? thanks guys

Mitsubishi Sirius engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 4G63 was a 1997 cc version. (85mm Bore x 88 mm Stroke) SOHC and DOHC were produced. The DOHC version was introduced in 1987 in the Japanese market Galant VR-4 and came turbocharged or naturally aspirated. It is found in various models including the 1988-92 Galant VR-4 and the U.S. market 1990-1999 Eclipse, as well as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution I-IX.

since this is wikipedia and the choices you gave us I would say 85.5...

and that will work with my completely stock bottom end correct? or do i have to bore my engine to use the 85.5? also, what do you guys think about the cometic head gaskets?

search Cometic in the search tab! :thumb:

why dont you call them tomarrow or send them an email and ask them.

It will work with you stock bottom end. No need to tear the motor down just to do a head gasket. Just make sure that the head isn't warped.

The 85.5 is your stock bore no need for machining. Cometics are used by a lot of dsmers on here and havent really heard anything bad about them.

ok, well what about a timing belt. im going to be running anywhere from 20-25psi on my buschur ported and clipped dual ball bearring 20g. so what brand timing belt do you guys suggest? stock or after market. and if after market, what brand?

I can't find it but someone had a thread and showed the difference between Cometic, HKS, Felpro, OEM and some other head gaskets but really most of them did pretty much the same.

There are rumors that the Greddy timing belts the best but I dont really know much about them. I would just stick with an OEM, plus I couldnt see spending the money on a Greddy.
