i've read so many threads on various forums about installing a turbo on a 2g non-turbo eclipse. being new to all this, its easy to say i don't know, but hard to figure out if im asking the right questions. if i am repeating old questions, please forgive me.

beginning my research of the various turbo options, Hahn, Star or custom, all boast about a boost upgrade, usually starting about at 7psi to about 10psi or so, on the low end. how much boost, if any, does a stock non-turbo put out? or do we go from 0psi to 7psi?

there seems to be some math involved (ugh!) but does anyone know of a good place to get edumacated on it? i read these threads using different acronyms that im not familiar with (IMO, ICW, MAP..and so on) and other people talking about calculating their boost levels and such. its all very confusing to the newbies.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You answered your question already. The non-turbo cars make no boost at all because we don't have a turbocharger. And if you do get a kit look at boosting 5 to 8 psi.
more info on hahn kits can be found at their webpage here
and star doesn't have a website but you can find the components of the kit here
