I've had my car for bout 2 years now(A/T 95 GSX) and have heard plenty of times people talking bout doing boost leak tests and stuff but have no idea what that even is or how you would do it. When I had the T25 turbo my launch was super fast, I could power break to like 3.3k rpm and have boost already built when I launched, but now I upgraded to the T04B V-Trimm turbo and I dont build any boost till I hit like 40 mph at like around 4k rpm and it sux, but once I do hit it quickly makes up for the lost time but would be so much faster if it would just spool faster. I do know for a **Fact** that I have some leaks in my header, but they have been there since I had the T25, just havent gotten around to gettn a new one. Car came with some crappy aftermarket one and its been fixed once but they came back so gettn a new one when have money. Other mods = K&N Air Filter, Apexi N1 Turbo back exhaust, MBC, Greddy Upper IC Pipes and Type-S BOV, the new turbo of course and Forced Performance intake along with the cracked header, Boost and A/F gauges.

I know fixing the manifold is a big issue and a must but other questions I guess are how do you make/can you buy a boost leak tester? How would you even use it to test for leaks? Are there any other mods that would help increase the slow spooling problem and help with the quicker launch issue? ------- Hopefully soon to get Future mods = 650cc injectors, 255 fuel pump w/rewire, SAFC, DN Performance Header, VPE O2 Housing, FMIC. Will those help/fix the problems?

With the T25 Launch was perfect even with the cracked header and ran at 12 PSI, now everything the same cept new intake and bigger turbo and Launch is slow as shit but way out perfoms the T25 after reaching low-mid 4k rmp range and running at 15 psi.

Just wanting to make sure that everything is running the way that its suppose to and even when I get the header fix and everything seems fine I'm not losing power becuase of leaks I know nothing of. Thanks alot know most of this is most likely answered in other forum posts but I've searched around and just didn't find anything that had answers I was hoping to find.

A description of how to make a boost leak tester is in the Stage 0 mods description. Do a search on "boost leak tester" to find more. I know that someone posted an improved design, but I'm not sure if it was in the intake tech article section or not.

I don't know anything about your upgraded turbo, but some turbos spool slower. Might just be the turbo.

So if the turbo spools slow then it just spools slow? Is there any adjustments you can make or tuning to help out or are you just stuck with a slow spooling turbo?

You can change cams and timing to help your turbo spool, but from the sound of it, I don't think you're ready for something like that. Do your boost leak test and go from there. Btw stop saying "headers". Bad images. :tease:

alright guys I'll be changing my power steering belt this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to do the tests then and see whats up, thanks for all the help and info.
