I just installed an aftermarket boost gauge and took the car for a drive. It is a 98 gsx with everything stock except the intake/air filter. The car spikes at 13psi and holds 11-12psi through all gears.

Is that normail for a stock t-25?

Also, sometimes when I am creaping around in a low gear, and I start to give it gas, the car will boost up, but you never feel the 'power band'. Like the car just accelerates like a darn s-10 motor or something... like it has no boost at all, but if you look at the gauge, it has full boost, just takes a little longer to get there....

Is that a common problem?

Automatic or manual? Did you install the boost gauge correctly? What did you tap into? Is your WG actuator functioning correctly?

manual. yes the gauge works fine. I used the hose that goes from the intake manifold to the FPS.... Don't know about the waste gate actuator thingy LOL....

But mechanically, how could the boost hit 10-12 pounds, and the car never start pulling? It only does it when you make it mad like drive it at 35 mpg in 4th/5th and give it more throttle....

Once it starts to do it, if you let completely out of the throttle, and get back on it 100%, the car pulls hard like normal...

Oh yeah what about those boost numbers? Normal for stock?

Boost numbers are fine.

The reason your car feels sluggish when you give it gas is simply because of the gear you're in at the speed you're traveling. Once the car gets up to the proper speed for the gear you're in, you will begin to feel the power.

Don't be fooled though, the boost is still being forced into the engine, causing you to reach the proper speed more quickly than that of a N/T car.

Hmm I wish that were the case, but I've held the throttle down when that happens, and it just never starts to pull. It happens most if the time in second, when I short shift 1st, then try to feel the boost/power band of second from slow....

So under the same exact condition (2nd gear) I hold the throttle down the to red line, never has more than 100 hp or something....

Under the same exact condition, I feel the boost gauge max out without power to the wheels, so i completely lift, then full throttle, and the car boosts fine and pulls hard.....

:(

I have 2 cel codes - EVAP stuff (can't even find solenoid to fix it!) and the idle speed control servo is bad.....
