Mods are current in profile. When I go wot it will rise to 21psi then fall of to 15-16psi . no matter how tight I turn the mbc the same thing will happen. I have did boost leak test in the past but cant do one until tomorrow. I am having a Mech here at work do it and also check the clutch. My question is that if the clutch is just staring to slip would it cause the car to loose boost because it cannot hold the power? I am very easy on the car and do all regular maint. It has 95k on the stock clutch. Please forgive me but I have never had to work on a clutch befor so I dont even know what to look for. I did save a log in 3rd gear of rpm and speed to post if that would help. Thanks in advance

Carl

Thats kinda what I thought but was reading a tech article on RRE's site and it said they upgraded the stock turbo and it still wouldnt hold boost past 15psi in the upper end. They replaced the stock clutch and boost was fixed. I know I am just gussing at this point until I do a leak test but I check everything every couple of months to ensure things are tight. Just trying to get a feel if anyone else has had this problem

Do you feel any vibration when you push in the clutch at all? What was weird was when I took my car to the track (wide open throttle) and my clutch was slipping (rpms shot up) I checked and I was still holding 12 psi (I don't have a boost controller) while the clutch was slipping. Weird I know

Not to steal the post, but I feel vibration in my new clutch after a high rpm shift. What is that? As for the clutch. If it's slipping it shouldn't have anything to do w/ boost. When my old one slipped I held boost fine. Boost would get me in trouble. Once it built boost it kept building it and would slip the clutch.

Yeah Im doing that tomorrow. Id like to hear from a wiseman to see if this is true. It makes sense because you build boost under load, and if your clutch is slipping and loosing load I would think it would act the same as a boost leak?

Why are you running 21 PSI boost on a stock clutch? Anyways, I had a few boost leaks in my 98 GS-T and never had it actually lose boost. When I got them fixed same deal. I have a slippy clutch right now as well. Get a new clutch and do a leak test and youll be good:thumb:
