ill give you some background on my car to start off: (my profile info is not accurate)
my first mod was a simple K&N air filter, after this mod, i started hitting fuel cut at around 4k rpms. to remedy this i rewired my fuel system, but no luck there. I heard the fuel cut i was getting might be due to a bad wire, so i got new 8.5mm magnecore wires (and plugs) but this also did not help. after all this, my greddy type s BOV and dejon tool MBC came in the mail so i installed those. by the way my MBC is a dual stage one so i have a switch that goes from stock boost to high boost (well,actually the "stock boost setting" is about 1-2 psi lower than my car was stock, but whatever). recently, with all these mods in, im almost positive im having clutch issues. let me explain the problem:
if i go full throttle from pretty much any gear except 1st (at 3k or so rpms), the rpms will shoot up to like 5k then slowly go down, so it feels like the clutch is connecting, just very poorly. if i hold full throttle longer, i will get this burnt smell that i KNOW is the clutch (ive had 2 friends with manuals, i know the smell very well). if i go half throttle though, at maybe 5-6psi, the clutch will not slip or hit fuel cut...
normally i wouldnt even post all this stuff but its just the fact im having multiple overlapping problems that gets my frustrated. could someone just confirm that this is a clutch problem and not something else? i know that sounds like a naive question, obviously I'M the only one driving my car, not you guys, but i value your guys' input. thanks!
