Boost leak ? or what??

This is the story,
I put on a new ic today and did a boost leak test for more then three hours
fixed all of the boost leaks bov,ic,piping. You get the point but when i went to test again i hear like hissing coming from behind or by my intake manifold. so normally i did soap and water trick no good could not find it now my car can't even get to stock boost ! 12-13psi I can only hit 9 if lucky ! But i know i have a bad leak i just can't find it is there anything down there that could make it leak ? i'm actually on my laptop out side working on my car right now but it's time to call it quits for today. So if any one can help me maybe a hose something ? please some one help.

It could be the intake manifold gasket leaking on the bottom where you can't see it..or the brake booster line also.

well when i put my new 6 bolt in i put the intake manifold and put a 6 bolt gasket on it but i tighten everything to specks.

I would start by checking this. Make sure all EGR lines are hooked up and gasket is sealing. You can stick your hand back there and try feeling around for the leak.

All of the lines are hooked up it's a big leak or that's what it sounds like it is . this leak is making the hole car run like total crap !

Stick your hand down there and see if you can narrow down the area where the leak is coming from. Feel along flanges, move vacuum lines around and listen for a change in the pitch of the escaping air, etc.

might want to check the vacume lines.. they might be hooked up.. but you might have a crack in one.. double check them bro.. sure its something small if it just happened after all the boost tests.. might have stressed a hose to busting limit..

How do you know that "all of the lines are hooked up" if you're not even sure whether or not there are any vacuum lines "behind/under" the IM?

The EGR valve is located on the under side of the IM on the TB side towards the back (towards driver's side under the TB). It has vacuum lines going to a solenoid located on the firewall as well as one to a nipple on top of the TB. It's hard to see which is why I suggested sticking your hand down there and feeling and listening for the leak.

Do you have all the emissions still hooked up? if you do might as well replace all the old hoses.
Did you use RTV Black on the intake manifold gasket? I do and it helps it seal better.

Have you tried boost leak testing it again after you drove it? Spray soapy water everywhere and look for those bubbles! It should be a big enough leak to when you find it you will WOW yourself.

EGR lines popping off is extremely common so check that first. Zip tie the lines while you're back there.

pressure test / smoke the intake. best way to find all leaks that you might have.

I would bet it's the intake manifold gasket. You really need to work your hand underneath to feel the air flowing. I put a brand new gasket on mine not long ago, torqued it to spec with the head off the car and I pressure tested it and it was leaking like crazy.

I put a new gasket on, RTV on both sides and it's now holding like a champ!

If you can hear the hiss then you already know you have a leak somewhere that's pretty large, keep looking, you'll find it.

I know that i have them all hooked up because in the summer time i dropped in my new block. but one of them could have came off i guess? what happens if you put a 1990 intake manifold gasket on a 1995? because that's all i had and that's what i have on? but i went from specks.

So i found the leak today its the hole bottom of my intake manifold i put a 1990 eclipse turbo gasket on it is this why it is leaking ? i have a 1995 turbo head with a 1995 manifold but a 6 bolt bottom end so should i go buy a new gasket ?

I would run the car and see where your vac sits at, then cap off all vacuum lines at the TB and see if you can increase vacuum that way. This is going to tell you whether or not the vacuum lines are the culprit. Then I would pressurize the system and wiggle your throttle body bale around while listening for air, as a very common leak is the TB shaft seal. But like the other guys said, IM gasket is a good idea to check too.

Yes, you need to use a 2G IM gasket. The gasket has to match the manifold/head. Which bottom end you have doesn't affect this. 2G's have smaller runners/ports so it sounds like you may have found your problem.

Yes i found it i took off the intake manifold just about one hour ago now for this gasket can i just use a auto zone one ? or do i have to get the dealer one because i herd some parts from auto zone are bad. correct me if i'm wrong.
