I have done alot of reading, but I can't find any info on whats happening to my car. I was driving my car and all a sudden it started to jerk alittle, and then it acted like I lost power, but when I gave it gas the boost went up to 10psi. I down shift out of 5th to 4th then to 3rd, and sometimes it will get its vaccum back and everything will return to normal. I'm thinking its a boost leak, but I want to get other peoples opinion. The weird thing is that the boost climbs, but the car lacks power. I might answer my own question, but with a boost leak wouldn't the boost level still climb, and then the ecu will cut off the fuel? I'm thinking thats whats going on. Thanks for your help guys!

It's probably a boost leak, go ahead and buy a boost leak tester (or make one). Every dsm owner should have a leak tester. One the other hand, it could be a clutch problem, im haveing similar problems with my gst right now and ive narrowed it down to my clutch.

Brand new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. I'll do a boost leak check tomorrow, but any other ideas?

Phantom Knock or Knock. Your timing sounds like it's getting pulled. I had almost same problem with my 1g, boost would build but car was gutless and bucked. I had just picked it up and got it running. Turned out my plugs were gaped wrong at .035-.04 and my ignition timing was set at 20BTDC. Fixed those and problem went away.

BTW found out to ALWAYS double check plug gap with new plugs, even though they say they are "pre-gaped" they hardly are gaped correctly a .028 is the goal.

Hmm... I guess it could be the timing, but I lined up all the marks when I replaced my balance shaft belt about a month ago. I will double check the spark plugs.

Okay. I checked my timing and spark plugs, and they are fine. I did find a boost leak at my biss screw, and fuel injectors. Would that cause my car to run like it is?

No. My leaking biss screw never caused my car to stutter or act up like that. So you have a pocket logger or anything you can log with?

That doesn't mean it's the same with all cars. Plus he has a leak at his injectors. Did you miss that one? Those two leaks together could easily create his issues. Especially the leak at the injectors.

It should have gone without me saying in my last post that you do need to address the leak you have at your injectors first. As far as the biss leak goes, alone, it is very unlikely to be the cause of your issues.

I fixed the injectors :thumb: I tried to replace the biss o-rig, but it still leaks? Also I think I found a leak at my head gasket  I found oil running down the front right side of my block
