Ok, I own a 1990 eagle talon TSI. I bought the car a few months ago. 2 years ago it had a full engine swap put in from japan out of the factory, motor tranny, turbo, head, everything, and had virtually zero problems. Its completely OEM with a 16g turbo. everything has about 40k miles. After a while the MAF sensor went bad so i replaced with a 2g maf and it fixed all the problems. but now, instead of it running 14psi like it did when i bought the car it runs 7-8 and every so often runs 10-11 rarely. Its also idling a little funny likes to bounce from 1k to 1100 back and forth at a steady pace, once ive drivin it for a while it will do that but around 900 to 1k. If i drive it, let it sit for 30min to an hour and try to start again it will start and then idle rough around 500 and sometimes even die, has very very little throttle response so i gotta hold the gas in til it decided to raise the RPMS, then after that it idles around 900 for the rest of the day. I really dont know whats wrong with my car please help.

Boost leak is probable, Other ideas include: dirty injectors? Bad Spark plugs/wires? Idle Air Controller? Bad o2 sensors. All of those can contribute. Start ruling things out 1 by 1

Sounds like a boost leak, check everything including the intercooler couplers - there can be fractures on the rubber and so fourth.

Along with injectors, I would also change the fuel filter. I remember my car ran like crap when the fuel filter was dirty - full throttle would bog and sputter.

I put fuel injector cleaner in today and it dint do anything. one of my spark plug wires doesn't want to go back in the hole all the way and has a small tear where you pull it out so it mite be causing a miss fire if im correct? Im going to replace the spark plug wires this weekend. Il check my o2 sensor. and idle air controller. my friend said my fuel pump mite be wanting to go soon.

I alreadu bought Bosch premium wires. put them on and now it start all happy and flat idle at 1k then all of a sudden drops to 800 after a few seconds and idles irregularly. give it a little gas it will do the same thing, sit all happy then drop to 800 with irregular.

nope. no check engine light

new plugs and wires are completely in no problems with those. plugs are gaped to .030 all perfect and never hit afterwards. So i guess il start narrowing down fuel system. i already have a brand new fuel filter im going to put in tomorrow and see what that does. If that does nothing then il go to fuel pump and then after that it problem still persists then idk.

I bought the NGK bpr6es and gaped to .030 and BOSCH ultra premium wires i was recommended. I just put a new fuel filter in today. the old one had all sorts of dirty gas in it so im pretty sure it wasnt filtering anymore. new one seems to have helped quite a bit but stuttering still there.

New fuel filter in. the old one didn't even seem to filter anymore and what came out was all sorts of brownish and gross. did not seem to fix the problem though. I guess next is replacing fuel pump itself, maybe that's what is causing this.

so far replaced:
NGK R bpr6es
BOSCH premium wires
fuel filter

rpms like to twitch every once and a while after new wires, doesnt jump idle just the rpm arm will twitch a little.

a little bit of holding back is still happening to. what it does is kind of slows itself down a little when im driving, like its holding back.
