Boost hesitation in 5th

It starts to get jerky and doesnt want to pick boost back up. It only does it in 5th when it hits about 4k rpm. All other gears pull hard with no hesitation. Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Why would it only happend past 4k whrn the turbo is spooling?

Overdrive is 4th gear for automatics, not 5th.

I would check & reclamp your couplers, check turbo gaskets. Exhaust manifold, & turbo outlet. Might have a crack & creating loss of turbo spool during high load on motor (high gear).

Otherwise, when is the last time you change tranny fluid & filter or messed with something bov, wastegate, or turbo related?

Could the extra load of boosting in 5th gear be causing knock?

maybe it would be a good idea if you check the amount of boost in every gear and find out if in 5th you are getting moore boost than in the other gears, check youre fuel baseline psi, and youre timing of the engine i mean youre engine timing marks... check out youre spark plugs if there is any detonation issues you may find out looking the spark plug how to read it images in the google images..... if you got low fuel base line it could happend that you got less than necesary fuel, if you are out of spec on youre timing you can have hesistation also....
