Boost Gauge Connection

My question is on boost gauges!!! I want to hook mine up, and am not good with electrical wiring and such. My question is, do i only need to hook up the vacuum/boost hose for the boost gauge in order for it to work and accurately tell me my psi, or do i need to hook up the electrical wires, i think they are just for ground and lighting but hey i just wanna make sure you know! thanks so much

yep - wires are for lights
( as long as you got a mechanical boost gauge )

im not worried about the lighting though, i just want it to work, my buddy at the end of the week is gonna take care of the lighting, i hate electrical stuff, so thats why i wanted to know if hooking up the hose would be enough and sufficient for the time being, i dont care about not seeing the gauge at night. i just want it to accurately tell me my psi. thanks
