Boost Adjustment?

Im looking into a 1993 eagle talon with a 16g turbo, Apexi Super AFC boost controller, adjustable fuel presure, 550 injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, ect......

Anyway, Im guessing it dosent get good gas mileage at its current settings.

So with these mods can I turn the boost (& A/F ratio) way down and get good gas mileage and then when I want to race (on the strip of course) can I slap some high octane gas in the tank and crank up the boost on the fly?

Theoreticaly that would work. However as long as you dont have a Command FLow AFPR and one that raizes your fuel pressure at a 1:1 ratio your gas milege shouldent be horabul.

Gas milleage has zero to do with you much boost you run and what injector size you run. Also by tunning your afr "down" as you say would actually worsen gas milleage as you would be making it richer than these cars already run. If you stay off the gas you will get good gas milleage regardless, or you could get a logger, and I stress this point, and lean out your low throttle settings a bit so that when you are cruising you are running leaner(i.e.-using less fuel). I however don't recomend this unless you really really know what you are doing and have a way of making sure you are not going to blow anything up. FWIW I was getting 25+mpg with my last tune and I had 1000cc injectors and a 255lph fuel pump.

The GS-T is a front whell drive turbo, that was made thru all years from 89-99, and the GS-X is the All wheel drive turbo,and both are powerd by the infamous 4G63 turbo Motor, which in the right hands, has one hell of a potential.

Yes so my gas milleage will be slightly higher than an awd car. The OP, however, did not tell us if he was looking at an awd or fwd and that still doesn't change the tunning of how to get better gas milleage.

I know that GS-t is a FWD turbo, GSX is AWD, Tsi is turbo, ect... ect... ect...

I know almost everything I can about automobles but I have yet to learn highly advanced things like tuning, electronics, ect...

Thats one of the reasons I am planning on buying one of these cars.

Also because they are the most performance bargain I have been able to find.
I mean C'mon! Where else can you find AWD, Turbo, nearly 100hp/Litre, for the kind of price that 1g DSMs are going for!

I wont buy a front wheel drive car.
IMHO they're the absolute wrong wheels to drive with. (Flame suit on)

Same here, I had a 90 FWD Laser RS turbo. I took it to the track with a 50 shot of nitrous and free mods, I couldent hook up. I sold it the next week and baught a TSI now I couldent be happyer. But for the flip side beating a gsx from a roll made me happy .
