I'm having a very weird bogging issue under 3k rpm. It's a 99 gst auto with a 95 7 bolt swap with a rewired cas, 3" turbo back exhaust, eBay intake, and a evo 3 16g turbo.

Car is very sluggish under 3k rpm. You can put a load on it and say build 10psi and it still feels very sluggish until it hits 3k rpm. After it reaches that rpm it instantly smooths out and pulls great.
This car has been giving me this problem since the day I got it running. So far I've installed new front and rear o2 sensors, new ngk spark plug wires, and new ngk bpr6es plugs. I've even swapped the Maf, tps, and coil pack with my other Dsm to see if it made a difference. None of these parts made a difference.

I bought this gst as a project, someone blew up the old 7 bolt. I found a completely unmolested 95 tsi awd auto that was owned by a old lady. Only had 90k miles on the car. I got the motor out of it for a great deal. The car was getting parted out because of horrible rust issues. Reason why I got the motor from it.

I'm not stumped and I'm not sure what to look into now. Any help would be great at this point.

I don't have a wideband. 16g is only set at 12psi since I'm still on stock injectors and pump. It still bogged even when it was completely stock from stock air box to stock exhaust. So I know the 16g isn't the problem. Also I may add, when the car is bogging bad the exhaust even has a different tone to it too. Car always fires right up first start. I don't know what's going on.

Check for exhaust leaks.
Any boost leaks?
How old is your fuel filter.
Injectors could be dirty.

I am having similar issues and I need to do these checks too LOL.

my issue is that ill be driving at about 2k rpms and give it full throttle and instead of smooth and gradual rpm increase with massive boost creep as i would expect,it stutters and boggs until about 3.5k and smooths out and rips all the way to redline. When its stuttering my wb is saying 10.1 or so.

i just found a small slice in a ic coupling fixed it and still doing the same thing i was wondering if it would b as simple as leaning it out from 2-3.5k on the ve tables?

Not sure about that, hopefully one of the expert ECMLINK guys will chime in on that. I do know that the car will run better the leaner it is. Maybe you need to lean it out? If everything else checks out I guess it could not hurt to try that out.

I know mine goes full lean when it starts to bog.
Sitting at idle then full throttle it will go lean past the 18 mark on aem wideband, then back to rich and it picks up.

yes sounds like we have the same problem but opposite a/f issues,i will try leaning it out more at thoes rpms and let you know.

I had an exhaust leak. Fixed it. Car. Was running rich. I retuned and seems to be better. Still need to tune some more though.

I had the same issue my car would bog till about 3000 rpms then would take off. Turns out the sensor on top of the intake manifold was loose and causeing this problems. I believe there is 3 sensors in the engine bay that can cause this. Just make sure nothing came loose. It happens
