got a body kit for my 98 gs,
bought a 95 gst thou. i was wonderin if it would fit it or not?
tryed mounting the back bumper and side skirts and they were wierd,
didnt kno if that was bc of fiberglass. . or different body

Please use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar in the forums. Thank you.

The GS and GST bodies/chassis are identical. If there is a problem mounting the body-kit you bought, it is most likely a problem with the body-kit pieces. Whether they are inferior pieces that aren't molded correctly or the material is deformed, we can't say.

Well I'm not going to tell you not to put a bodykit on as it's your whip, but I will give you this story:
Ok I knew a guy who did the exact same thing you did, wish I had pictures of his car but here's what you're up against if you choose to keep the kit:
Your 95 headlights will be too small for the 98 bumper, you will have to sand, grind, remold the headlight holes to accept your lights or you'll have a ugly gap around them.
The 98 side skirt were too long for his car, he had to cut fiberglass to make them fit.
The 98 back bumper also won't accept your 95 tail lights, you'll have to rework them like the front bumper. Also the reverse lights are totally different and in different locations, something else you'll have to deal with.
Once all that was said and done the kit just looked odd somehow, in the process of the remolding of the pieces it was cracked a few times which caused more remolding to correct it. Since the shop didn't have a stock mold for the kit, alot of it was freehand due to human error some of the lines were off just a tad here n there. You sure you want to keep it?
Overall the guy spent almost the cost of the kit to make it work instead of just sending it back for the correct year kit. I suggest you send it back man, the work it'll take plus the end results just won't be worth the hassle as opposed to dropping the boxes back off at FexEx to get the right kit. If you can't return it, sell it n use the cash for the right one.

evothis- most of what you said is wrong. a 98 style bumper with 95 headlights wont leave a gap as the 95 headlights are wider than 98s. the tail lights are the same unless your converting a talon to an eclipse, which isnt the case. as for the other problems, it sounds like your friend bought a cheap kit.

to the OP- it is your car and your choice as to what you do with it. to install a 97-99 style kit on a 95-96 car, all youll have to change is the headlights (about $120 for some cheapo projectors or about $700 for new ones from a mitsu dealer. i suggest used OE.) and the reverse lights. good luck.

i know the rear bumper is an easy fix. all you need is to get the correct year back up lights from a local junk yard and have a dremel tool on hand to trim and widen the holes for the lights. the oem wires and plugs for the back up lights will work with the new lights from the junkyard.

usually with fiberglass bumpers they need to be bent or flexed into the correct form of the cars body. for the rear bumper, center the bumper by measuring and marking center points on the car where the tail lights are taken out. measure and mark your center line on the bumper itself. line up the bumper center line to the center mark on the car and drill your holes and mount with screws/bolts where the oem bumber mounted. you will most likely run into the bottom of your fiberglass rear bumper "flaring" out by the wheels. you will need to make brackets to pull and hold the flaring corners in. plus these brackets add stability to the bumper. also remember to add screws/bolts to where the oem bumper mounted!

have fun!
