I may be buying a Blitz Front Bumper and 2 Sideskirts froma guy for only $200. they are brand new and never been painted. before i buy i was wondering how much you guys think it would cost to get them painted. and also how much to get them installed cause im not sure if i want to install them myself

The fiberglass kits have to be intaled an fited prior to paint other wise it will look bad. Some times you have to do some shaving or adding of fiberglass/filler to make them fit corectly. This is what costs money. You can get the paint done for about $300 (more for a really good shop).

Then when you hit the first curb, steep incline, or pot hole it all gets trashed. Fiberglass cracks really easy. And we already hit our front bumpers on just about everything not even being lowered.

I would say good paint work and fit should cost somewhere in the 450-600$ Range. But like said above, there is no real need for it. Your car looks fine the way is.

Hey Paul Walker, i'd try taking it down to harry's and see how much he'll charge to install it. I'd also grab two big bottles of Nawz when you are down there too.:rocks:

please leave it stock... You will regret it when you get 1 year older..

leave the stock bumpers. get a nice lip kit that excentuates the natural curves of your car. to me, blitz body kits are bolbous and hideous.

They have a good point. 2g's don't look bad at all stock and after they are lowered look great even on stock wheels. If I had 200 to spare I'd save them for when I broke down

That is the funniest thing I have ever read on this site ROFL

To the OP Just keep it stock or add a lip

I grew up in a body shop and its gonna cost you upwards of $1500, so dont buy it. There not just gonna paint the bumpers, they also have to atleast paint the fenders, doors, and rear quarter panels to make it match. Its not worth it, keep it OEM, it wont make you faster neither , remember this isn't fast and the furious its the real world. That movie was just a big commercial telling you rice out your car, dont get influenced. Tell me how many fast cars have a body kit... 1 out of a 1000, and that 1 is because they have a lot of money.

For price of that kit I would say that it is a poorly made kit and will require the side skirts to be extended, 3hr per side, on the front after removal of the OEM parts and fitting new bumper the head lamp openings will need to be modified and stiffened up on the bottom to keep them from sagging (100% of the Eclipse I've done needed that at least) and with it being a poor kit it will most likely need the wheel arches modified and custom brackets made to get proper figment, 8hr.

so far where at 11hr labor just to make it fit, now if you want it molded your looking at 5hr per side and the front is not recommended on the DSM because it will hard to change out head lamps.

Now for paint, which is normally a flat rate and slightly varies depending on what paint is on the car (3 and 4 stage is more) $600

11hr prep @ $45hr = $495
Paint work = $600
Total = $1,095 no tax for just 2 sides and the front, this is what our current rate is in AL

keep it stock i hate my body kit and i wished who ever put it on would not of done it but mine came with it when i bought it and im looking to make it stock looking and yes as soon as you hit or bottom out the first time it gets trashed... the front of my bumper is all scraped and the fiberglass is cracked and i cant stand it. but hey its ## car.. but down the road you will like the stock OEM look. just slam your car first and i bet you will change your mind

WTF
What does that mean?

I had to read it three times myself, but I take "cc" to be car club.

I would not spend $1500 to get a real bodyshop to put that kit on. Its probably one of those cheap ebay kits that's going to crack the first time you look at it wrong. A really good body shop might not want to even fool with it because most of those kits are such garbage. Find a bumper guy that visits car dealers to paint it for you for $400.
