body harness identification help

so im in the middle of thinning up the body harness getting things that i wont need/use..

so im cutting,
ABS,
Cruise Control,
Seatbelts,
SRS,
Audio,
AC/HVAC
Rear window wiper.

basically just going through and taking out whatever isn't engine or gauge related,

having trouble identifying these.....

located mid left of the body next to the seat belt motor?

also some of the wires go into connectors that transfer through to the engine harness, is it still alright do go ahead and delete them.

First picture, the one are pointing at, is a noise condenser. Your car should have three, two in the engine bay, and the one you found by the rear seat. They help reduce noise in the electrical system. I keep it unless you are also getting rid of the radio as removing it will cause audio interference.

The rest I am not really sure about but a quick search of the part numbers on this site reveals:

Third picture, the one that looks like a little ECU, MB686911 is a speed control unit. I have no idea what it really does though.

Fourth picture, MB542448 is a door lock control unit/theft-alarm control unit. Apparently it was only used in 1990-1991 models and is not universal with any of the other years' control units.

ok, figured out that

pic 1 - Noise condenser, Intermittent wiper relay (rear wiper), Dome Light Relay (gone already)
pic 2 - is a relay of some sort still looking as to what it goes too.
pic 3 - is the cruise control module (in the process of going)
pic 4 - is indeed the door lock module (gone)
pic 5 - still no idea.

They both look like relays to me. Try tracing the wires to where they lead and its a relay for that. If that doesn't work you can call your dealership with the part numbers and they should be able to tell you what it is, unless its just a standard relay. Or someone on here who has wincaps can do a part # search for the two you are missing: MB530227 and MB627895. I don't have wincaps as it won't work on my mac but you could also download the program yourself and then check the part #'s.

MB530227 Relay, Passing Control.
MB627895 Relay, Auto Door Lock best guess based on where it is in your harness but same relay is also used for Headlight Popup Control and possibly other places.

Did you ever finish your body harness? How much stuff did you remove? Does everything still work? Still planning on tackling the engine harness? Hope its all working out for you!

been working 7 - 9.30 everyday and pretty much got the body harness done will work on it more friday (1st day off in 13 days.)


don't know if it will work or not, i cut the Cruise module and door lock module and traced wires back, a black and yellow wire and blue and red went to the OBD1 port........ so kinda nervous.

ok, body harness is done! and back in the car..... going to take it out and braid it laters

HVAC, cruise, radio, speakers, power door locks, is gone i left the things i couldn't figure out in the pics.
