Blue Tranny?

so when i was replacing my turbo i glanced over at my tranny and noticed its painted blue. anyone ever seen this before on a tranny?

why would someone paint the tranny? i just realized its the same cover as the timing belt cover and sparkplug cover....weird

For the same reason engine blocks are painted.

We can't all live in Florida. If we leave a piece of metal bare in NY it corrodes. Dudes in Nevada can drive around with no paint anywhere on the car.

i did a carfax on the car and saw that it originated in Washington. maybe thats why... didn't think about painting it to keep it from corroding...

You should Paint some racing stripes on the tranny!

The transmission case is aluminum so I don't see the point in painting it even for NY.

People do it for looks, why else would you paint it other than rust protection...

Not unusual, most people just shoot a couple cans of clear. And FYI even aluminum transmission cases will corrode in places like the midwest. I guess my car just doesn't leak enough.
