so when i was replacing my turbo i glanced over at my tranny and noticed its painted blue. anyone ever seen this before on a tranny?
 
It is most likely that someone just painted the transmission.

why would someone paint the tranny? i just realized its the same cover as the timing belt cover and sparkplug cover....weird

i did a carfax on the car and saw that it originated in Washington. maybe thats why... didn't think about painting it to keep it from corroding...
 
Not unusual, most people just shoot a couple cans of clear. And FYI even aluminum transmission cases will corrode in places like the midwest. I guess my car just doesn't leak enough.
