So, say about 2 weeks ago my buddy finishes the flange he was making me for my 1g BOV, I get it on, take it for a spin, 14b hot side impeller shears off, it was really very awsome.

Now, all is back, new 16g, new water pump even, but now the car stumbles, pretty badly, like it just falls flat on its face sometimes from a stop. It idles low and rough, it surges sometimes if I start out, its stumbling, and I give it a bit more gas, sometimes it'll take off like I tried to launch it.

On a side note the impeller is still in the exhaust, somewhere right before the CAT (I can hear it when I hit the pipe around there).

My question is, Im thinking o2 sensor, seeing as how there was about 1 and a half quarts of oil evacuated into the housing. Would, or better COULD, a faulty o2 sensor cause symptoms like that? My next guess was there is way to much restriction from that impeller in the exhaust, but then I thought, that thing is small diameter than the exhaust, so... yea, I just dont think that would be enough to cause all this.

And for those interested:

did you check the o2? that could be the reason. the turbine chunks probably knocked the o2 around or the oil destroyed it. is it throwing the check engine light, and you have a way to look at the codes? anyway, id point a finger to the o2 start with simply unplugging the thing and see if the idle changes. do a boost leak test too.make sure your exhaust is not clogged. I put a big 16g on my talon and the only thing I got was fuel cut.:talon:

yea it seems like you have a bigger prob.,the impeller wont cause the issues your having.
check for boost leaks and make sure you installed everything correctly.

Guys are you serious? If that thing shot down the o2 housing and hit the sensor its most likely destroyed seeing as how fast the turbines spin. Try either getting the sensor out and replacing after inspection or unplugging it even. A boost leak would be next in line.

I already did a boost leak test, tight as a tiger.

I was 99% certain it was the o2, just wanted confirmation that it can casue that. Ill check and get back ASAP.

Is it just me, or does the area where the turbine wheel turns within the housing look very restricted in this photo? I've rebuild hundreds of 14B's and NONE of them looked this small where the turbine wheel is.
