Here's the story...i went and bought this 1992 gsx and right when i was driving it home from the guys house it started to overheat on the highway. The car immediately began smoking like crazy (white smoke). I was only 2 exits away from my house so I kept driving it (i know):nono:......As I was driving i started hearing a small noise (my guess is the lifters started ticking ). As I was going off the exit the car just turns off and would not start back up......Now has no compression. When I get the car home I check the oil and there is nothing on the dipstick. A few days later i went and drained the radiator and there was barely anything in there. So my question is.........is this mostly a head gasket issue?? And bc I drove it like that for a couple miles my guess is that the head is warped now and the lifters went?? My main concern is the bottom end...I would like to get some input about that.....should the bottom end by fine?

It is kinda hard to tell...I would guess the head gasket went and or the head warped. You say there is no compression on ANY cylinders? If that is the case the valves may have bent or the timing belt may have slipped a notch or four. Does the car start now that it is cooled off? I would first check your timing. If that is good and in order then if you don't want to pull the head you can do a BLT to sorta listen for where the air is going to give you a better idea but I bet you will end up pulling the head. IF the motor was starved of oil and water then I can almost guarantee you will need to do a rebuild as your bearings will at minimum be scorched. Hope this helps and sorry for your trouble, Keith.

yeah man, no oil and no antifreeze=no good.

does the motor turn over when u try to crank it? in assuming u already did a compression test. get any reading? if not, put a little bit of motor oil in each cylinder before you hook up the comp gauge. do test as normal. if u get compression this time the u have bad piston rings or a bottom end problem. if u still get no compression, your head/ valves are no good.

either way, sounds like its gotta come apart man, sry.

but hey, when something breaks..... time to upgrade!!:hellyeah:

it still turns over its not seized...i am going to check the timing today to see if it skipped before i unbolt the head
