Alright so here's the deal...I'm finally about to get started for the spring and everything, but I need to know whats up with all these forsaken BOV's. I think that I'm probably going to vent to atmosphere, but with this new BOV on the market I need to know if anyone knows about the TurboSmart Blow off's please let me know. I was going to get a TurboXS, and then go with MAF and 3" MAS, but I just wanna know wahts up before I make any purchases. And also, all you guys with Greddy Type S, both vented an recirculated, tell me how you like your Blow off, especially if you have expierenced TurboXS before...
Thanks

As long as you vent the BOV correctly, by all means, go for it. I have the Greddy Type-S recirculated and for the most part it's pretty decent. If I had to do it all over again, I would have chosen something else...

Why? What would you have bought instead?

I use the Type-S GM MAF in blowthru setup. BOV sounds awsome, and I haven't had any trouble.

i had the turbo XS RFL and it was good but i started to leak after haveing it for some time the little allen screws and the nuts wouldn't get any tighter and the allen srcews all got stripped when too mych force is on it and now i have the greddy type s AND I LOVE IT!!! it's just a great sound and it worked real good easyer to adjust a screw on top istead of talking it apart and putting washers in it like the RFL so hope this helps i also vent to the amosp.

The Greddy BOV is poorly made IMO, the rubber diaphragm has a tendency to rip because the Greddy will flutter at low boost and wear it out.

I have the stock 1G BOV vented with the MAFT. All I can say is it's as loud as most of the aftermarket BOV's out there. I've got a lot of compliments on it. Oh, and it has 128,000 miles on it and still holds 21 psi just fine (unmodded):thumb:

I have t RFL blowoff valve that I am going to sell for 125$ if u want it. I just got the Tial. I got the turboxs RFL about 3 munths ago and is in mint condition. I also havr the bracket to boult to the intercoler pipe.

If you think Greddy is made poorly, what else is out there...I mean I want to vent to atmos, and I really dont think HKS is the way to go. bdc408, i wont go any higher then $100 but not without some pics either. Anybody know anything about Tial also...I heard its a b!tch to do anything with it cuz its huge....in terms of an FMIC and such...

I have the TurboXS H34 (the recirculating one)-- same internals as the RFL. It's OK, but I have to take it apart and lube it occasionally to keep it from fluttering too bad. Plus, it whistles constantly at high cruising speeds (80+ MPH), which can only partially be solved by adding more washers.

A few local DSMers have the HKS and like it-- why did you say HKS was not the way to go?

I was told HKS sounds like crap...but I'm willing to try it as long as it doesnt suck....so far I'm getting that Greddy Type S and HKS are the two best to purchase...also I could get HKS and if I didnt like the atmos idea, buy the recirc adapter they just came out with...

sorry to threadjack, but how would it be to put a 1g bov on a 2g gst? I hear they r a good cheap upgrade, but whats the most boost i would be able to push on a 1g bov? I think its 18, anythin above it will leak, is this true?

Just last weekend I had my intake and BOV installed I have not expierenced TurboXS, but I have experienced the turbosmart SuperSonic, Looks very nice and its big, Its crazy loud, and I think does the trick! I have a digital cam and can record videos on it so if you like just let me know.:D

Which TurboSmart did you get...the only problem I see with the turbosmart is FMIC's and things...also if it expierences rough idle and everything...as for the 1g...if you get a 1g from some1 and get it crushed i beleive it holds boost up to about 25 or so psi...

I got the SuperSonic TurboSmart, Idle hasnt changed. And this BOV Im sure can handle probably up to anything its the second highest BOV in there line, The next one up is a crazy dual chamber.

You can get a brand new modded 1G BOV from www.dejontool.com for 105 dollars shipped. I don't think you can beat it as far as performance and cost goes. It'll easily hold 30psi modded which you won't get to:D

I can get pics if u want, I just put in the FP3065 so i need the Tial.I also still have the box and receipt.I payed 189.00 in November.
Thanks

This has been discussed a million times. And the answere is still the same, 1G with high boost mod for stock MAS cars, and Tial for MAP, or MAFT cars. Any other valve is simply a shiny, fluttery noise maker. Simple as that.

Don't you think the HKS with the pull (or is it push) type valve is superior when guarding against leaks and such. I've been told, and it makes sense, that even quality pieces like the Tial are still push (or is it pull) type valve which can ultimately open prematurely with considerable wear?

Don't wish to argue, but rather confirm my thoughts on the subject. Thanks.

Im not BOV master teacher expert, but, i have seen that Tial has the highest flow rates compaired most the other BOV's..HKS, greddy, blah blah blah.....o and shep runs one.
