I just started upgrading my 99 gst. I want to buy a blow off valve, but dont know which recirculating bov would be best. All help will be greatly appreciated!

1g BOV, this little oem part is has proven itself to be an awesome blow that is designed to recirculate.

If you are planning to run more then 17 psi, then this isnt the BOV for you unless you modify it(You can search the forums for that) or purchase a modified version.

I am currently running the HKS SSQV. Its pretty damn loud even recirculated.

Like many others will tell you here, do your maintenance before anything else and follow the upgrade path after that:

If your considering a Greddy type s, then check out the NGR Type S. Currently they sell them on ebay (they're building a site), but they aren't "Ebay junk." They are made from a Greddy type s, but with better internals. If you want to hear them go to youtube :thumb:.

Like agentorange said the 1g bov is great. Its cheap and holds pressure great if you're still stock.

By the way...try a search next time. I think this is the third bov thread in like a week:D

just get the 1g BOV.... ive gone through the greddy type S, Greddy RS and NGR types S... and always find myself going back to 1G BOV..

I haven't bought one personally, but from what I've seen of the one's friends have used, the NGR Type S absolutely does not have better internals. It's true that the internals are basically the only difference, but that's the problem. The diaphragm of the NGR has been known to fail very easily.

Now I have to read around:D. Thats the first complaint I've heard.

Are all hks ssqv recirculated? What is the max psi they will hold. I want to eventually boost 20+ psi.

I love my Greddy Type-S... I contacted NGR about there bov. They state that it does not use any parts from a Greddy Type-S. There built from scratch. Just so you all know.

Greddy's aren't that great. The only ones that I would suggest would be the HKS SSQV and TiAL Q. I've owned all 3 of them and I like the TiAL the best, but for a more stock setup the SSQV since you can recirc it.

NGR's diaphragms have been known to fail very easily? where you hear that from? Try it before you bash it..I have had mine for over 1 year and still have no problems running 15psi. And I have never heard a complaint either, so if you had a problem I would contact them as they have warranty..I even checked my diaphragm a couple weeks ago and still in perfect shape. I remember Greddys Type-S diaphragm was already ripping after 2 months, now that's garbage.

My Greddy RS was great but started popping open at 26-27psi. I still had the double springs in it also. I ended up going with a TiAl but I dont have to recirculate. If you have to Id say the HKS is a good choice since you can find them at a decent price and they dont leak. I was looking at the Synapse one too thats styled like an HKS but I didnt read up too much about them.

I have a forge 1 gen model and love it. Ajustable with the spring kit and shims they give you. Works very well and I have run both the 1st gen and 2nd gen/ evo model as well and both worked flawlessly. Good company reputable company as well.

I'd rock the NGR Type S. I'm running the Greddy Type S. I would switch to the NGR but my Greddy is still performing good.

The hks can be recirculated yes, with a fitting.
If you don't mind shelling out some dough for a known badass and tried true bov go hks.

I never liked the sound of the HKS, though the performance is great. But so is TiAl's which is why I went that route. Id say if you want to have a BOV that can handle some higher boost and you need to recirculate, go with the HKS
