block stripped out on head stud

one of my holes for the head stud is stripped out tried to retap it but wont hold torque. anyone have a 6 bolt bottom end?

If youre on a budget, i would try a heli coil. Ive read about people using them for head studs.

You can try napa or take the block to a machine shop to have the hole fixed

Try using keenserts. i used it on Hondas and it worked great. The helicoil jus stretched out while the keensert held in place.

Is the engine still in the car? if not, take it to a machine shop. If so, id helicoil it.

yes engine is still in the car could i put a helicoil in it with the head on it just wondering cause i just put it back together

Is it that bad? I'm pretty sure a machine shop would fix it for next to nothing if it's all that's wrong with the block.

Your best bet is to take the head off because youre gonna have to tap the hole and rethread it to put the helicoil in and you dont want metal shavings in your head.

yea thats true just sucks having to take it all apart again but i will try abd see what happens

but i have ran a tap through it and the arp will stay for a few but went to torque it down a just wont hold over like 30 ft lbs
