at first i didnt think about it much when my machine shop said that, but after looking for pistons i notice that no one offers for that bore. i searched but couldnt find anything on that bore so if anyone has any input, info, or previous experience please chime in, thanks guys

I would just call the machine shop and verify the bore size. I've seen some oddball sizes before, so it's not completely unheard of.

the said it numerous times......its just making me nervous cause i dont see anything offered for that like i said

I am guessing it is actually .25mm which is roughly.010" over bore. Aftermarket pistons for the 4g63 generally come in .25mm, .50mm, and 1.0mm oversize. Respectively, the sizes in sae are .00984", .019685", and .03937". Alot of aftermarket manufacturers would dub these as .010", .020", and .040" overbores. This should answer your question. If not, pm me and I will try to explain better.

so your saying the bore is actually .010?

He's saying that it could be .010. There is no way for any of us to know what it is, you need to call the shop and verify the bore size.

Yes. In a machine shop, they just measure and overbore using the metric system when the stock bore is listed in metric sizes. Being a mitsu block, all the sizes are listed metric in their "master" book and oversize pistons for the same block are listed in metric overbore. Evidently, it is just an everyday average machine shop, not one that specializes in imports.

Ive spent years working in an automotive machine shop and on the average, this is what I have seen.

You are better off to buy the pistons, give them to the machinist, and he will mic them and bore to the respectful sizes due to tolerances. Most machine shops that know what they are doing will ask you to bring in the pistons even before the begin the boring process, at least the ones around here do, because i've had 2 blocks bored out in the past and this is what they do. Now i just do my own because i got acces to the technical college's machine shop :D
