blew the cap off my bpv tube on a hard intake pipe

the dejon tool turbo intake pipe i have has the bpv tube which was capped ( washer with the seal, bolt going thru and nut on top for tightening) while pushing 20psi on my s16g tonight i hear a loud noise from under the hood at the top of 4th gear, pop the hood and the cap for the bpv was missing and a nice sized cut in the hood insulator, this is the noise i heard flying down the road, the darn cap shot out ( gone now) this sound normal to blow the cap for a bpv tube off on a hard intake pipe?

Imediately check your turbo.

the cap didnt fall in, but ill check the turbo now that you said that. i suppose if the cap was loose it would pop off but shure doesnt seem like there would be much pressure inside the intake pipe

I just don't see pressure build up in the intake pipe to blow anything off unless you have compressor surge, I would worry more about things getting sucked in.

turbo checked out fine, guess it was just some freak thing
