im thinking about buying this
16G turbo

i have a 96 GST

my had no problem taking my stock turbo off so should i be able to put this kit on pretty easily ? also is that a good 16G ? im not sure if theres name brands or what. also would i need to get a new BOV right away or can i wait ?

thanks ! :D

if you email and dont reply please send emails to [email protected]

I'd go with an EVO III 16g. They are practically dirt cheap right now, you can pick one up for around $550ish and its way better than a big 16g IMO. As for putting it on yourself, PB Blaster will be your friend. Those bolts can be PITA to get off if you've never done it before.

i needed some help..........my car started smoking really bad all of a sudden and the boost gauge dont go past zero... also a pinging noise from the engine somewhere....
i dont know what to do... if someone could help me out i would appreciate it

Sounds like ur turo is Done. the first thing i would do is to check if ur turo works, one of the fastest way take off the intake pipe and check if u have pully play.

When my turo blew on me i had crazy smoke and i was loosing all the oil. half of it was in the intercooler the other half in the exust. and when i came to change the turbo colected about 2 QT of oil in the intercooler and piping no BC. so if i would be u just chek the turbo takes about 2 min to do it (or less ir u know what ur doing)

yea i would say my turbo is gone........... it feels like alot of shaft play... good thing it was a t25 i got an extra turbo... i think its a evo 16g but i dont know if thats a good turbo or not
ill have to put it on and find out..

What's the difference besides 2lbs lighter?

The evo flows a bit more than the b16g, and with lighter internals, it spools faster. Alot of that weight reduction comes from thinner compressor blades. I've never had a b16g on my car, but I've been in one. Power output in the evo is a bit more, but the biggest difference is spoolup. With MAFT in my car, it spooled up only a little slower than the t-25 OMG but with way better power :thumb:

spend the little extra time read about turbos, and reduce the risks getting a lemon.
16g installation will take you couple hours, even more if it is your first time.

unscrew all the lines/drain.
unbolt your turbo to manifold bolts.
unbolt your o2housing to dp bolts.
do your swap.

for a 2g, 16g turbo will need a kit.
