well i blew my motor just a few hrs. ago, i stomped on it in 1st gear and when i finally let off the gas it was shaking horribly. as it was also smoking, so i check it out and oil is everywhere; And then there it was OMG a hole the size of a baseball . so on my way inside to think about what just happened i see my main bearings on the floor and a few feet back i see pieces of my block, and the whole bottom end of my rod. I got a spare motor, but it needs main bearings. so basically im looking for some advice.:dsm:
Thanx

I know what you feel man ### I threw a rod on my old 95 n/a!. Good thing you got an extra block. How did you blow it up? I blew mine when I didn't knew shit about cars and didn't check the oil on it and stomped on it hard!:shhh: I still have the rod it threw as a trophy!LOL

Same exact thing happen to me. LOL I just sold my rs for 300 dollars.

advice i was looking for was if i should just build the bottom end stock again? so i could drive my car again(soon). and my other option was Hahn rods and some other brand of piston. i didnt see that hahn had pistons, or i just didnt find them.

in other words should i do a quick stock build? or wait, save money, and make it right so i hopefully dont go through this again.

Well I suppose that would depend on your goals. If you are looking to eventually make 250+hp, build the bottom end now. If you are just going to do your basic 8psi turbo build, you can suffice with a OE rebuild, but with the cost of aftermarket pieces, I would just build the bottom end with forged rods and pistons.

Money and goals.

thanx locke i might as well do a built bottom end. any one know where i can get some good rods and pistons. any site suggestions.

well ive looked around and found a bottom end rebuild kit. Its from a website ModernPerformance.com, it comes with almost everything je pistons, eagle rods, oil pump and gasket, je piston rings, rod and main bearings all for about a grand. :thumb: im gonna go with the 8.8:1 pistons and go ahead and boost my car. i wont have it for a while and it was my DD :notgood: , so im gonna go ahead and purchase another vehicle that ive found which is a 04 srt-4 :D , hopefully i will be driving it home in bout 2 weeks, reason being is that im going out of town for 1-2 weeks.
But thanx to the few that replied. :thumb:

420a's are pretty good once the bottom end is built, but I suggest you ditch it and get cha a 4G63 powered eclipse...
