ok so here is the deal... i bought another 95 Talon TSI for $500 to replace the blue one i had after i made the colossal mistake of taking it all the way apart and i found a crap load of stuff wrong with it.... turns out it cost me as much if not a lot less to buy this TSI as it would have to repair the 96 i picked up about 6 months ago (the frame under the floor board was crushed in a couple of spots, the back end was rusted out worse than i thought, and the body was twisted pretty good. the frame straightening alone starts at $350).

only really annoying thing is that someone had taken and shot the living crap out of the car with a paint ball gun. now there is this thick layer of orange Goo all over the front end of the car and all inside the engine bay. does anyone know the best way to clean this stuff up. i have tried to let it soak by constantly getting it wet, been scrubbing on it with a green scrubby and simple green... i don’t have a pressure washer so i haven’t tried that yet but i might be able to borrow one. i even tried engine degreaser... if you have any suggestions that might work let me know.

thanks.

Good luck, paint balls permanently damage paint, you are going to need to repaint the car or have faded paintball shaped paint spots everwhere.

yea i already have plans on repainting the car, thats why i didnt mind taking the green scrubby to it.

i didnt know paint balls were oil based... i didnt think you could have something oil based and be biodegradable or safe to eat (or so i was told).

Paint ball paint isn't damaging to vehicle paint for the most part. There are different kinds of fill available. Some contain permante dye, most are a glycerine fill but they are non toxic to consumption. Paint shells are the same stuff that gel capsules are made of for medical pills which is a gelatin.

If the gelatin is dry, it has ahered itself to the car paint and if you pull it up the car paint will come up with it too. Best way to remove it is to just take a sander to it but I'm sure there is an acid out there that will eat away at organic material which will pull it too.

If you are going to re paint it I'd try paint reducer. Just don't get it on anything plastic because it will eat away at it.

Have you ever hit a car with a paintball that wasn't immediately washed off? Even if its not dry it will ruin the paint.

Yes I have, I did it to my old car. I used to play 3x a week while I was on a team. That's why I said paint fill will vary between specific manufacturers as many brands use the same fill as they are from the same plant but brand badged differently.

In all honesty, if the fill is going to damage paint then it shouldn't be used in play as you need to assume the paint will be ingested or be entering the blood stream.

The other main component is vegetable oil.
