best recirculating o2 housing

Anyone ever tried one of these?

Recirc set up for a 38mm gate, stainless, and less than half as much as others out there.

^And it's 3 inch! Not 2.5'' like everyone else.
I would have bought that one if it was out when I got my MAP 38mm recirc. housing. They've had those for a 44mm gate for years, I remember emailing them long ago asking them to make a 38mm version, I guess they finally did it. Assuming it fits the only thing that could be better is the wg reentry, it seems to come in at a 90 degree.

Yeah... Brian (snowborder714) mentioned that a while back to me also. I wonder if it makes a big difference?

I didn't even realize it was 3". Wonder how I would transition that to my 2.5" DP without creating a bottleneck. :hmm:

EDIT:

Just found the MAP housing you mentioned:

That's a damn nice looking piece, and a decent price as well...so many options. :)

Just buy a cheap 3'' downpipe, cut it and have a v-band flange welded on. I'm pretty sure this would be the best flowing exhaust setup you could create for a mitsu flanged hot side. I plan to do this soon for my hx35.

Do you have the MAP housing bolted up? It looks really tight (especially the O2 bung against the wastegate), but I really like the way it is routed.

I'll be running it on an FP race manny, and it's hard to tell what the fitment would be like.

Yeah, it's on the car. Getting the wastegate bolted on was the hard part (probably b/c it's an ebay gate). No interference with o2 sensor. Fits well. I'm running FP mani as well.

I have that O2 Housing, but the one with a 46mm WG.

Very nice piece for the price.

The Good: Nice looking SS. True 3". Noticeable difference in spool and flow switching from the stock O2. VBand takes 30 sec to hook/unhook down pipe.

The Bad: Its big, puts it very close to Alternator. Ended up relocating my Alt. Bolting it to turbo is pain because pipe is so big it overhangs bolt holes in flange, so need to start all 4 bolts at same time. Need to bend oil dipstick tube a little, for clearance.

Cool deal. Was wondering how a cheap gate would bolt up.

Can you post up a pic or three? :D

Thanks

I'm glad you asked, cause I noticed something. What the hell's up with my bep housing? I thought it was just a bolt running through with a nut on the outside, it looks like the whole sleeve or something is coming out. Seems like I read about this in the holset thread somewhere. I guess I have to pull the turbo and get this welded shut? Weak...

Thanks for the pics John...I'm really liking that MAP housing.

Which gate are you running?

No problem. Not really sure which gate it is. The one they sent me wasn't even the same as the one in the ad. It came with a 1bar spring though which was higher than most of the ones I saw.
