i need to get a new headliner and new carpeting done in my car...would it be better (cheaper) to go to the dealer (can you even do that anymore) and have this stuff ordered or just find an auto upholstry place?

Dealer won't have anything, headliner you can do yourself, there is a how to on here somewhere, just search for it.

Carpet you can also search for, those you can find for about $100 bucks premolded, you'll just have to cut some holes and fit it in.

i've tried the headliner myself many times it just falls again i'd rather get someone to do it, there has to be a place to order factory stuff like that what if it's damaged in a wreck and the car is fixed at a body shop...where would they get it?

They would most likely do it themselves or have an upholstery shop do it.

Read the write up, if you have tried and failed, you're obviously doing it incorrectly.

unless it's a different one than i remember seeing the glue never holds up aound here...car isn't stored in a garage and the heat affects the glue too much

I'd take the headliner to a reputable upholstery shop and have it recovered. It shouldn't cost you a fortune. I think mine was about $40, and it looked like a brand new factory piece. As for the carpet I have a write up in the tech articles about cleaning your carpet. You might as well give it a try before spending $100+ for new carpet. :)

my car has 200k miles on it...there are holes worn in the carpet after they went through the mats.

WOW!! Then I guess cleaning it won't do much good! Most of the time people are ready to ditch their carpets just because they are really dirty. I've had really good luck getting them clean by doing what I explain in the tech article. It works good but not good enough to get rid of holes. ;)

yeah its funny to say it but i'm "restoring" my 95....not for show just to have "new"

I'm in the middle of trying to "restore" my 90. I've put a lot of time and money into "restoring" my car, but am still pretty much stock. :( It looks really nice for a 1g and I always get "That looks really nice for a 1990." or "My car doesn't even look that nice." It won't be staying stock for too much longer! :D
