Best One-Stop DSM Shop?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

It's very simple. Go to www.dsmtimes.org, take a look at who is running what, pick a time you wanna run, then take it to that shop. Only 3 times in the top 30 are not affiliated with a shop. So, anyone running quicker than 11.00 is affiliated in some way, shape or form with a shop. Pick your ET, then take your car to that shop.

Thanks, I'll check that out:thumb:

Sounds to me like you wanna talk about some stuff you dont know anything about. This is totally IMO. Dont talk about all your specs on this thread unless you wanna tell us the intentions of your car. I just wish I had as much money as you and your "friend" and I would spend my time building DSM's and traveling the states with my 20G! Totally my opinion though. I am just a poor Texas DSM'er! Later

Oh yeah! If anyone wants to come to Texas in the middle of no where! I will accept 15K buy in! Sorry ;) J/K

do you belong to a crew called TOP SECRET too.....everythin seems to be top secret. When you join the boards like this one the purpose is to share your experience on diff parts that you've used, share your setup and be cool with other dsm owners about racing, parts and your car. You inviting everybody down there....if you think that you are so tough why dont you come down here to Cali where racing scene is one of the biggest.....:thumb:

The drag strip to us is only a tuning tool. We all run clocks off because there is no one else that needs to see our time slip except ourselves.
As to the Cali invite, thanks but our cars would get impounded due to you harsh Smog laws. Here in IL you can get away with running an open exhaust with no catalist on an AWD. The trick is because they can't put an AWD on the dyno at the smog place so they just hook up to your ECU and scan for codes. If you just erased them before you came in, they pass you even if you're spitting black smoke.

Hey man, keeps this on the DL, but if you are so worried about people knowing your setup, DO THE WORK YOURSELF. And post something worth talking about next time.

since when smog places have dyno?????? I wonder if there is any dsm's that are smog legal over here.....i dont think i've seen one for a long time.
How tf do you run open exhaust and no cat at the same time. OMFG get a life and stop tryin to think that you actually know somethin.

 I bet you your car would get impounded for having a 6 foot tall wing on the windshield cuz thatz what you sound like. Secret neon lights under the car...thatz about it. Try postin on the secret forums where nobody posts cuz they are all secret

Anyone real street racer wouldn't be caught dead asking such broad statements on a message board, nor would they have someone completely build them a car.
Why? Becuase now theres people that know about the car, and your screwed.
Maybe your friend should spend some time under the hood of his own car. At most he could send the motor/head out to be assembled and get a built tranny... But anything besides that he should be doing himself-

my bad but you sound like an idiot. You run your mouth and look like a fool. :D You are just trying to come off hard and why are you the one doing everything for your so-called friend. Everything you say is we, we ,we, but it is his car, right? Why don't you get your own hobby;)

No one wants any of the Texan in the middle of nowhere huh? Alright no longer 10G buy in. I will take 5! But my FRIEND will take 4.5? Who wants some of the Texan that wont tell anyone about his car. Oh wait! My FRIENDS car. Now taking buy ins. Come one! Come all! The unknown texan and his FRIEND. (and the car) Later

this aint no honda message board this is a mitsu message board. go take your wooden body kit targer bought neon lights stock cut springs homemade coffe can muffler tip and card board 20" spoiler 20 k buy in with my stock 1.6L SOHC Vtec engine that i think puts out 20,000 horsepower cause it says VTEC on the valve cover and get the $%# off this board and go bug some honda punks. they might think your cool cause you have all this money and secret plans and dont know how to do jack #### to your own car. you have to pay somebody else to do it.

I think this guy is a fast and furious addict. True DSMers pride themselves on being open about their setups. You can have 2 identically prepared cars, and one will beat the other, consistently. I haven't heard anyone mention DRIVING SKILLS at all. Not to bash the dragsters, but a true test of driving skill comes at the autocross course and the drag strip. A quarter mile is a blast to run, but is over far too soon. Give me a dsm that can do both well, and still be a daily driver. That's where we beat the Honduhs. Have you ever seen a built honda try to go somewhere in a snowstorm? Halfway up a hill they turn into curb kickers, as they slide back down the hill, bouncing off the curb at full lock. The other thing that I have found true of most dsmers is that we are HONEST. We come by our cars honestly, we pour our hard earned money, blood, sweat and occasionally, tears, into our cars, and are rightly proud of them, no matter if it is a 14 second daily driver, or a 9 second sunny day car. We pride ourselves on the "all around daily driver, and best bang for the buck concepts" Any lottery winner could go out and spend a million bucks on his car, and there would still be some guy or girl out there that discovered a way to go faster. Some of us are lucky enough to run businesses that allow us to share our expertise and get our boost junkie fix while making a living at it. Most of us have a love-hate relationship with our cars. We love them when they're running good, and hate them when they break. Most of all, we do our own research, break our own parts, and then come to the forums to find out why, and how to prevent it from happening again. We share our triumphs and our losses, and share our knowledge freely for the benefit of all. So when you post a nebulous question like "who can build me the fastest car in secret", you blew your cover. For one, your friend should have been the one asking...after he did his homework. Two, there are no guarantees of speed, or of being faster than anyone else. Take a look at how long it took Dave Buscher or John Shepherd to get their cars where they are today. Three, asking that kind of question in an open forum will get you as many different answers as you would get asking every psychologist in the country if you were sane. Or asking if anyone heard of a truly honest politician. I for one, am happy for your friend that he has the means to spend some serious cash on his car. I just hope that no-one had to suffer for him to get that money. If he has that much money, I would recommend that he go to one of the many racing schools around the country and get his driving skills maxed out before he spent a dime on his car. If he is that serious about it, he should get trained by the best. When the Neon ACR came out, I watched two factory drivers pick up a pair of brand new bone stock ACR's from a local dealer, straight off the lot, and proceed to blow everyone at a local autocross into the weeds, including some pretty ferocious built new camaros, mustangs, and yes, dsm's and hondas, to take first and second overall for the day. They beat ferraris, C5 corvettes, LS-1 SS Camaros, HP Motorsports Mustang Cobra, and a lot of other wicked cars. So let this smackdown provided by my fellow dsmers be a lesson. Ask in here, and you'll definitely get more than you bargained for.
(just my .02 cents worth, and sorry for the long post. I hope I bored him to death)

In other words, "we don't run at the strip because we're really slow for the amount of mods we have and don't want people to laugh at us".

You're telling me to get a life?! You're the a$$ holes replying to a thread that was intended for serious tuner shops to get some buisiness. I have recieved several private messages about the details about the mods that my friend intends to do. I answer them openly and honestly. As for me doing the research for my "friend", I also do this research for myself for future mods to my own car. If you don't like the "secrets" then don't botter looking into this thread. We have alot riding on having our cars kept in the dark. We basicly have a 97-99 crew (we're not a club or anything just a group of friends) and there are alot of 1g guys that don't really get along with us for reasons that aren't really known to us that want to race us for money. I don't care if someone out of state knows about our cars, it's the guys that know us that I can't give them any info to go on. I know alot of you are all about the whole DSM community and everything and that's great but on the street it ends up being very different for us. I really appreciate the info that is exchanged here and on other sites like this one and I'll tell you guys anything about a sertain product or experience but as far a posting an entire set up, I just can't do it. Get a grip on yourselves and try being heplfull.
