best mods

i just got a 1990 eclipse gst. its running around 14psi. what would be the best mods to go in first. im thinking intake, exhaust, but what are the better ones to use as far as performance and sound.

I'm new to dsm's myself. Bought my first one a couple days ago. From what I've found online and read, you on the right track. Chunk the choke artists exhaust in the trash for something better flowing, ditch the rubber intercooler piping in favor of some metal mandrel bent piping and maybe a front mount intercooler. From what I've read the stock downpipe is very restrictive so ditch that in favor of a good aftermarket one. And I've read its good to go ahead and get a 190lph fuel pump or better. Apparently a stock evo7/8 fuel pump is a good upgrade and doesn't have the loud whine of a walbro. This is all information I've found reading the forums on this site for hours on top of hours the last few days.

Good job reading and learning! That is what this forum is here for. Most questions have already been asked and answered, there is a wealth of knowledge on this site. Another thing to add is an aftermarket boost gauge. The stock one is just the ECU's estimation of the boost, it isn;t actually measuring the pressure in the IM. When you add a larger exhaust and intercooler that 14b WILL creep. Mine went straight to over 20 psi. For cases like that you will need an accurate boost gauge to see what your turbo is doing and a larger fuel pump to help keep it from going lean.
