I knew my ACT 2100 (on the car when I bought it) wouldn't last long, but this is ridiculous. I only made 4 WOT pulls with the new scm61 on the car and it's completely fried. I've heard bad things lately about the ACT 2600, and the sbr 4000 looks promising, but it's really expensive and I haven't seen enough reviews on it yet to spend $500 on it. Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks :thumb:

I've had ACT 2600 on both my 1G and my 2G both AWD. I can say i honestly never had a problem. Love the feel of a 2600, its really not that bad in traffic . To each his own tho. I've always wondered how the ceramic clutches are but never got one cause i have my 2600, and on both cars i've beatn the hell out of them and they drive fine afterwards.

I know everybody loves ACT but...
Try Exedy, I have the stage 2 and it holds great. (over 10,000mi and 30-40 launches) Granted, I am only putting down about 320 at the flywheel but the stage 3, which I am pretty sure is a 2800lb, should hold 500hp very well.
Aloha

I've been told the 2600 is incredibly stiff. Is it bearable for a daily driver?

It's fine...I drive minimum 50miles a day 6 days a week with the 2600...Love my car, dont mind the clutch at all...I also drive it traffic quite frequently...Dont mind it much there either...Ur used to it after a week or less...Its a great clutch

A friend of mine just put in the SBR and he said he loves it. I had the 2600 and it is stiff but nothing to unbearable for a daily driver after the first week or so. I just recently switched to the clutchmasters stage 4 and I still have the exedy lightweight flywheel. I love it and it is nnot stiff at all. Only reason I went with this is because I got a GREAT deal on it and its brand new. I would look at the SBR, ACT, CM, or check out RPS clutches. All the guys I know that own Sup's have them and they love them. Later,
-Mike

ACT PP is great but go with the sbr disk. That's what i'm running :talon:

What pressure plate are you running? I am going to be running a 2.4L and I am trying to decide between a ACT 2900 or the SBR 4500.

I'm runnind a 2600. If I run into a problem I'll go with the sbr 4500. But 2600 is good for 10's and I have the setup but I need to break 11's first

Ive run the same act2600 disk and pressure plate & lightend stock fly wheel on 3 different engines, awsome clutch, totaly streetable.

ive been running an act 2600 clutch and streetlite flywheel for a couple months now. it was a little stiff when i got it, since i was used to the stock clutch, but now its no problem for daily driving or driving in traffic. holds the little power ive got great. just took some getting used to.

The pressure plates are fine. The disk with ACT burn up. But if its great for Shepard and Rau, its good enuff for anyone. Plus some may not align them right or resurface the flywheel correctly and they cause more problems. I'll just buy SBR disk and go from there. But I bet their clutches are good too. But they are too new for anyone to have any problems.
