I am planning to buy an Intake manifold for my 2g. I will buy a Magnus or JMF intake but I still haven't decided. They both have options on type of throttle body flange. My goal is to make 600-700 hp. what type of flange should I get to accomplish my goal? And will the Magnus or JFM will be reliable (and more hp)?

the option are:
magnus
1G Stock 90-94
EVO Stock
Ford 4.6L 75mm
Ford 5.0L 75mm
Nissan Q45 80/90mm

jfm
1G Stock 90-94
accufab 75mm
Nissan Q45 80/90 mm
power plus 75mm
bbk 75mm

I see you are rather new here, do you have the supporting mods?

If you know how to use a TB calculator then you should try that. You will notice that on our engines you won't see a whole lot of difference using a TB bigger than 75mm. I've studied this trying to decide which TB I was going to buy but you just won't gain much if you go bigger than that with our forced induction.

yes i do i have:
hks cams 272/272
aem ems
tial 44mm wastegate
walbro fuel pump 255lph
550cc injectors
FMIC intercooler
greddy Type-S BOV
punishment racing t3 turbo manifold
aem Adjustable Cam Gears
3"in hks exhaust ti-tip (straight pipe no cat or resonator
3"in downpipe
turbo i dont really know the spec only that its a t3 with a .63 compressor housing

Do you plan on going with a stroker or anything? The motor can only consume as much airflow as the cylinders can take in at a time. Having a huge TB won't make too much of a hell of a difference unless you go with more than 2.0l. What's your budget like? Don't just throw HP numbers out there like you can afford it all. 600-700 hp is no joke. With those current mods, you're not reaching those numbers anytime soon. Start looking into forged internals as well. You'll need bigger 550's. Might want to change the cams and go bigger as well. With bigger cams, you'll need better valve springs and retainers. There's a lot to consider. Do your research well.

Tim (twicks69) is making 700+ whp utilizing a 1G 60mm TB. That tell you anything? Might wanna read through this or this thread to learn more. All with 2.5 inch intercooler piping.

As for the Evo TB - a good solid piece. If you wished, it could be bored out to 65mm. Similar design to the 1G N/T 63mm TB. The only thing is that the idle can be nuts, unless you have a management system that can calm it down, such as Link.

BTW, there are two different TBs that came off of the 1Gs from the turbo family - the 1990 model and the 1991-1994 model. Don't get confused, because they don't operate the same. For us 2G guys, the 91-94 model is what we're after (has to do with the TPS).

for your current setup a 1g throttle body is good enough
im running a 1g throttle body on my setup and im puttin down some pretty serious numbers....no prob

1g throttle body will be the cheapest, easiest to replace, most well known on here and can be bored. Like everyone has said the throttle body won't make too much a difference until you start dealing with larger displacement.

first of all you can't use a 1g intake manifold unless you port the runners on your 7 bolt since the 1g's are bigger :nono:
all those sheet metal intake mani's (SMIM) are great but they're anywhere from $600-$800 and you've got to remove a bunch of stuff and worry about fitment. IMO try and find a e3 intake manifold and get a 1g (92-94) 60mm throttle body for it. you don't have to worry about fitment, because it actually fits better than the stocker 2g IM, and you don't have to worry about porting either. they might be hard to come by but less of a PITA to install... if you want to read more into the evo III intake mani heres all 15 pgs of it --> http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/245603-lancer-evolution-iii-intake-manifold.html#post151144050

Thats a nice starting list but I hope your not thinking to use some of these parts for your goal, as your going to fall short. The 255 pump won't support that kind of power & those 550's won't get you anywere's close (more like 400whp if your luckey). Type S will probably leak at the boost levels required. If you go with T3, your probably going to want a larger A/R then .63. Plus there's a tonn of other supporting mods required to meet these kind of goals. And finally in a fwd, that kind of power will be useless you plan on running slicks daily (or will this be more of a track car?) Even on a proper setup fwd, on street tires anything over the ~500whp mark is going to be pretty useless.

Well what does your AEM EMS say your flowing through the motor? To big of a TB and it will fall on its face with rapid throttle openings. Is this a DD or street strip, whats your spoolup? Throwing a manifold and TB on there might not give you what your looking for.
I don't know what the ems says. I have it tuned by my machanic. I plan street strip.

Im 60/40 between a 2.0L and a 2.3L. Internal I plan on buying eagle crank with eagle or carrillo rod. Mahle pistons. I know I need more mod to achieve my goal. I started with AEM EMS but im planning to upgrade the part accordingly. I know I cant just put on a large turbo and expect to run 10's.

But thanks for the info ill get a 1g with the whole engine and awd tran. I started a new tread because of what happened today. I found out today I suffer from crankwalk . My story beings with a clicking
sound coming from my timing belt . I look a the harmonic balancer it was bad so replace it and I decided to replace every thing on that side which includes the water pump, timing belt, balance belt, power steering belt, alternator belt and gaskets. I thought that would fix the clicking sound. After all that work I took it to my mechanic to verify every thing was done correctly, I don't have a big ego. So, he put my car on the dyno and run a pull he notices some on the laptop (I have aem ems). I had a fuel cut because it was over boosting at 3000 rpm but I had it for a while(one more reason I took it to him). I had a bad wastegate but when I was idle it was losing crank position. He looked at me and told me the wastegate was bad then he pause looked at the car turned around toward me said you have crankwalk sorry . I was like wtf . So, I need help building a 6 bolt. I plan to make 600-700 but being realistic minimum 500hp. Want to buy part that can handle power range. The questions are: parts need to achieve my power goal? Can I use the parts I replaced on the 7 bolt to the 6 bolt?(waterpump, timing belt.etc..)What is needed to swap 6bolt in to a 2g? 2.0L or 2.3L? Will the transmission work on the 6 bolt? Which trans is better 1g or 2g? Is there a specific engine block (year) that is the strongest? Is there a place where I can buy the block with all the machining done? What kind of bearing are the best to help prevent crankwalk?

Everything happens for a reason. I wont let it get me down I have to get back up build it stronger, faster, reliable. My journey begins with help from the DSM community helping me with my build.
