Looking for a good bov for boost in the 25-30 psi range or higher. This and I want it to sound sick. Looking at the RFL bov or a genuine Type S. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I've heard the 1g bov is only good up to 22 pounds and that's if it's crushed. I really don't want it cause I want to vent not recirc.

Just get a new TIAL, with proper spring, if you can vent to atmosfere. Forget these Greddy BOV's. They leak... 1G BOV with DEJON TOOL mod, wouldn't leak at that boost. The only problem is, which turbo are you running, cause the valve isn't big enough to vent more air, if you got a bigger turbo.

I want to go with something in the 400+ hp range. I think I am going Synapse but do I have to get rid of my maf and go gm?

I was going to go T3 but I'm spending too much money so wanna stick with bolt on preferably.

What are you talking about, a crushed 1g is a blow off valve:ohdamn:If your going with GM translator and Maf-t you can vent with the 1g crushed bov also:aha:

Man what was I thinking I should just mod all my STOCK parts cause that is what everyone does. Why did I even ask about this in the first place? I'll just go slap my 1g bov into a vice grip real quick and have at it. :thumb: Man am I so dumb. :ohdamn: Thanks for all the advice guys.

Probably going to go with a Synapse BOV. Thanks for the inputs. Not trying to be a dick in any way/shape/form but I don't care about the 1g BOV anymore so don't mention it.

Greddys hold boost good if you tighten the spring up tight.....

Yo you're in Kzoo that's tight I'm in Detroit. You on xceedspeed? I have the same tag on there as I do on here. Hit me up on there if you want.

How nice... sarcasm.

The 1g BOV (when properly modded) is known to hold boost well. That's why everyone keeps recommending them. Just because it's a stock part, doesn't mean it's crap. Many people mod the 1g BOV because it's cheap. $200 aftermarket vs. $50 stock. The general consensus is that DSM tuners are cheap (myself included). That $150 could be put towards something else (a used HX-35 turbo can be found for about that price.)

However, I'm running a HKS SSQV. It holds much better than the eBay Type-S I had on my car (first mod before I learned). I had piping flanged for the HKS so I went with it. I'm only running 17 psi until I can get some more fuel and a turbo that won't run out of breath. I've pressure tested it to 25 psi and it holds great.

With no mods listed on your profile, we have no idea what to recommend. Are you set up to properly vent? Are you set up to handle 30psi?

The RFL is probably the worst valve on the market. Anything that mounts to the base with three set screws shouldn't even be considered for boost over 10psi. Above that, they live up to their name....Real F*ckin' Leaky.

Same with Greddy. They're on the right track with design, but I know of owners who have replaced their diaphragms yearly on their Greddy valves, and that's just ridiculous when you spend the amount of money they want for one of those things.

Honestly the best choices would be a Dodge Garage Modded 1G BOV or a TiAL 50mm valve. The TiAL is great for dumping a great volume of air in a hurry, making it an awesome valve for someone running high boost on a turbo that pushes a ton of air (GT35R+).

When you reach the 25-30psi range, ANY valve will scream. Don't think valve choice is going to matter much concerning sound at 30psi....then again, nobody running 30psi really gives a shit about sound; they want functionality.

So before you mock the 1G BOV any further, perhaps you should do some reading on this and other forums. You'll quickly find out that the 1G DSM's were blessed with one of the strongest, most reliable blow off valves on the market....and everybody uses them.
