Just like the topic says,I want to hear some opinions on what is the best boost controller out right now, wether its a manuel or electronic doest matter.

Manuals are cheaper, some find more reliable, and easier to set up (only two lines to connect), no wires.

Electronics can be more accurate, potential for more features (I.E. multiple boost levels, boost based on sensor input), and most have a digital read out which can double as a boost gauges.

You can get both in in cabin adjustable, and both come in a variety of flavors. Only you can decide which is best for you. Personally, I used manual boost controllers and I use solenoids to change my boost levels when it is desired.

I also experimented with a Noriega style Manuel boost controller

manual you set it and forget it... and you cant crank up boost from incabin unless you get one of those fancy hallman ones

Manual is awesome, but if you run FWD you can use your electronic boost controller as traction control by setting boost lower in the lower gears, though not sure this is possible on a dsm?

I have used an Apex'i AVCR, one of the best EBCs out there. It is crap. Way too many useless functions that just get in the way of obtaining a simple boost level. It either spikes or doesn't boost.

Manul boost controller is cheap and easy to install but you get a better read out with electronic boost controller where you can change the boost for the inside instead of always going under the hood.

pretty much any manual boost controller is gonna be the best as long as its a reputable name brand i know a couple people in a vw forum that have made there own from some supplies at home depot i will see if i can fine some directions on making one from what i remember they only cost about 15 or 20 bucks to make and was almost infallible. ill see what i can come up with.

Stick with manual. An electronic one isn't reliable. The high boost you go the less reliable it is of holding that it. However, if cannot hold yourself back from all that bling-bling go for the Greddy Profec B Spec 2. It's the most reliable and capable of higher boost of all the other EBC, so they say.

I have this Greddy Profec B Spec II and so does my friend who recommended it in his Evo, and I like it. Easy to set and adjust if you have a little patience and the mind set to want to learn. I f you get frustrated easy, this is not the unit for you, just my .02.

BTW installation is very easy, even a caveman can do it!:thumb:

Sorry about the manuel, manual thing!Ok so from what Im gathering this is the way to go.I really like reliable. Its cool its cheaper but thats not always more important. Now I keep heraing Hallman,Is there a reason for this brand? And is this the most common MBC on a DSM?
