Well that was dumb! :banghead:

Having fun in the snow with my 90 GSX, went around a left turn and broke loose, slid sideways as only an AWD can, and smacked my rear passenger tire/rim on the curb really hard.

Amazed I did not blow my aluminum rim apart (need to check it for cracks) it was a fun drive home trying to keep it on the road. Now the rear passenger tire is clearly pushed in at the lower left, out at the upper right- My first thought is that I bent the lower control arm, but it does not look bent at a casual glance, so I'm worried.

I know- I need to tear it all apart and do some measuring and careful inspecting so I should not even be posting until I do- but I'm sort of panic'd- I hope I did not bend the trailing arm or the frame around the rear diff that the control arms mount to. The only rear lower control arm I can find is a crappy one on ebay as they are not available any more. Also worried about my differential and axle.

Does anyone have any advice, things to look for, or have any rear control arms stashed? Do you think my aluminum aftermarket rim is trustworthy after this impact? I'd hate to have it blow apart at freeway speeds. :barf:

I have seen the rear lower control arm offered in a billet aluminum for racing, and i might have to go that route if I can't find a stock unit, anyone try any of these, and are there other conversions I might have to do to use these?

Thanks for your time guys! -Warren

Well dig into and see what broken, then you can make a decision, and call around for what ever is broken even try here at millerimports for used parts, or place a wtb for what ever is broken first see whats going on.

Were you able to dig into what could be broken? These members are parting out their AWD Talons under DSM Part Outs on the forum. Maybe they have what you might need.

Check the upper control arm on that side, if youre lucky, the eccentric camber bolt just shifted bigtime. Things that could be bent are the lower, upper control arms, the trailing arm, though this is unlikely depending on the speed of impact, and maybe the rear subframe. Id put it on an alignment rack to see what its looking like and see if the alignment can be corrected, and if not, at least you may find whats bent by seeing the alignment readout.
