I got a valve cover off a talon 4g63 at the junk yard and got it out to clean it up today when I noticed one of sheet metal c shaped braces was bent over.

How well will the valve cover function if I try bending it straight and hammering it level.

How perfect does it need to be ?

I believe those are for oiling purposes. Although I'm sure it plays its important part. It will be fine to get it as level as possible and use it.

Im worried about it rubbing on the cams or other top end parts?
