I'm not sure if bolts are suppose to be in these holes here, and I'm guessing oil are spitting out from these holes. no oil in any spark plug wells. Doesn't spit out when idle only after driving.

If anyone can give me some info on why I keep getting oil in the valve cover.

Yes there is suppose to be bolts in those holes. That is properly why you have oil on the cover after you drive it.

Hahaha. Wow. Yes there are bolts that go in those holes. Take your Valve cover off, order some nice stainless bolts, a new valve cover gasket and redo it right! There is a bolt tightening sequence to follow, and don't over-do it!

The reason your getting oil on your valve cover, is probably because of your oil fill cap gasket has hardened allowing oil to escape while driving. Just replace the gasket or buy a new one and you should be fine. The holes in your valve cover are for the spark plug wire cover that came factory, nothing comes out of the holes. =)

I'd double check that statement , check the holes he's got circled. The spark plug cover holes are the higher ones near the rim of the inner valve cover gap. The holes he's mentioning are indeed holes that need a bolt inside them to hold it in place (on top of the ones on the very exterior of the valve cover).

I believe STM has a complete set of valve cover bolts. Hex heads. Bought some for the GST, and man are they spiffy. And, I'm sure you know but I'm gonna tell you anyway...DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS. They need like an extra 'oomph' push after its tight. I believe torque specs on it is like 36 INCH pounds, not foot pounds. So not very tight really. You can strip the holes and/or crack the cover, so be gentle.

FYI they are 6mm X 1.0 thread pitch. Get the set from extremepsi.com or stm like others said though. If there's no oil in the spark plug wells, the plug gaskets should be fine

That looks like a Hyundai rocker cover, one of the ones that needs the special larger diameter studs and sealing nuts. The head has 6mmx1mm threads and the cover has a larger diameter hole. Something like these.

Hyundai valve covers don't need the special bolts. Just get some m6x1 25mm long bolts at ace or home depot and put a dab of rtv on every hole. The outer ones are 40mm long.

I just recently got a TSi. It had the same valve cover on it. It leaked too. Mine had studs, rubber washer gasket, small washer and an acorn nut, not bolts. One of the rubber gaskets was missing. The only place I found to get them was Hyundai dealer. Just a simple rubber washer was $5.38 each. Ofcourse not in stock. I robbed the Mitsubishi valve cover from my other engine. no problems, no leaks.
Just fyi, I did some searching and found Hyundai's w studs use a Hyundai valve cover gasket. Different from Mitsubishi. The difference is the hole size in the gasket. Hyundai's that use studs have a bigger hole in gasket for the stud size. the Mitsubishi's have a smaller size hole for bolts.

I disagree. The best cheap mod I ever did was switch to studs instead of bolts on the VC. Just use a moroso oil pan stud and nut kit, and use them on the valve cover instead. I enjoyed easily sliding my valve cover on and off, as well as no stripped bolt holes.

How does it clear the cam gears with studs? If you lift the vc straight up it'll snag on the cam gears.

I had a similar issue and I replaced the oil filler cap and no more oil on my vc

The top of the studs have a slot to insert a flat head screw driver. IF you remove all the studs first than it will come right off. The stud and nut is nice because the stud is sleeved. The valve cover can not be over torqued because of this.

Yes you are correct, when I bought the car from my cousin and he said Hyundai valve cover are better and will be less prone to cracking, so it is a Hyundai valve cover.

So I'm geussing I need the smaller bolts in that picture right? Where can I find some or can I just buy any bolt kits like said from STM or extreme psi.

You could probly just go to the hyundai dealer and get a set of oem bolts. If you dont wanna pay big bucks tho, Home Depot is your best bet!!
