Resolved Belts not turning after Harmonic Balancer install.

Good afternoon DSM family, i just recently changed out my old harmonic balancer, and the only problem I had was a broken lug nut stud . But I went to start it i heard a loud tapping noise from the top end.
When I looked under the hood I noticed that none of the belts were spinning, could the crank pulley be on to tight?
Please let me know guys, I need this fixed asap!

Did your key way fall off? Seems odd.

If the pulley isnt turning its bad or the crank sprocket key is mising in which case the car wouldnt run and worse you would mess things up

He is talking about the woodruff key which is what holds the timing pulley in place to the crank. If this was missing or sheered than the engine wouldn't even start, the valves would be done. This is not your issue. I think that you are confused in some way. If the crank pulley is bolted to the crank and the belts on and tight there is no way that the belt isn't turning, well unless the alternator, ps pump or water pump is locked up.

Well I spun everything by hand , and it seemed fine. I did come across that the crank was hard to turn. could the pulley be on too tight?

The only other feasible possibility is that the crank pulley already split apart, the inner hub that bolts to the crankshaft from the outer rim where the belt rides. Could explain a loud tapping as well.

The pulley cannot be too tight; it spins in unison with the crankshaft and having it "too tight" will not prevent that.

Are you asking if having the bolts too tight would cause the pulley to not turn? No, it doesn't work like that, if you tighten the bolts to tight you break them and nothing more. The pulley is bolted to the crank and if the crank is turning than the pulley is turning.

I don't know, you either have a bad balancer like stated above or the belts are turning and you aren't seeing it right. There comes a point where we can't help and you just have to climb under there and look at it yourself to diagnose it. Pull the plastic cover off and look to see what is going on. This should be very easy to diagnose.

Yeah I have the wheel off, and the plastic off, so I will be looking at it in the morning time. I am just frustrated that is it.

I installed the new pulley already. I found out that the pulley was rubing against the timing cover, so I need to find out how to fix that.

If you still have the belt problem we already told you the outer ring is probably separated. The outer ring can move towards the cover. Yes we understand you just installed another one. That doesnt mean it isnt bad especially if its used. Ive had a new oem unit fail.

The pulley is all together (new one) . It's rubbing against the timing cover barely. I pushed it with a wrench when it was running, and it stopped the noise! I will upload a video.

Is your CAS hitting the timing belt or the sensor? I had an issue once where the plate had warped over time and started strumming on the timing belt, which oddly enough sounded like a bearing knocking. Not at all what you would think the issue would be.

I'd be wary of an OEM pulley anyways if you plan on doing any sort of mods, for the couple hundred bucks you pay for a Fluid filled damper (there are a few brands out there) it's worth it in terms of killing crank vibration. There can be some wierd harmonics going on with clutch engagement and stuff that are minimized/eliminated with a better damper. My car came with one, it's an automatic, and even then i still plan on keeping it. There are just too many good reasons to have one. Just my .02c

But the timing cover isn't preventing the belts from turning as you say they aren't. The likely reason that the timing cover is rubbing is because it is missing one or a few of the mounting bolts. Did you ever make a video of what it was doing so that we can better help you.

Yes i have made it, I never removed the timing cover js.

When you removed the old pulley, did you remove 4 bolts with 12mm heads, or the large bolt in the center?

Here is the video right here. I only removed the 4 12mm bolts on the crank. Sorry I didn't explain either, I fixed the belt not turning issue also

Dont tell me all three belts were loose. Thats mechanic 101 stuff. If the balancer is hitting the cover then the cover is installed wrong/missing bolts etc. Its also possible its bent/warped but I would say less likely.

I missed one of the belts , but I never removed the timing cover ever. When I get off of work I'll check the belts again, and make another video
