ok so for the past 10 months my belt has been giving me issues on and off... I used to carpool to work, so It wasnt at the top of my list of things....

at first, my car chewed through a belt, so I bought a new belt...

then it chewed another, so I bought a new pulley.

now (especially when I turn) it squeaks loudly and its embarrassing honestly...

I know the first suggestion is the power steering fluid.. but that is fine.. the belt is new, and so is one of the pulleys..

I have 97 eclipse gsx any other suggestions on what I could replace to possibly fix it... other parts that connect to the belt that could cause the squeaking, since I know its not the fluid, or (one) of the pulleys.. whats next to try?

Like stated make sure the tension is correct on it. Your bearings in the pump could be going out. Have you inspected the pulley you didn't replace for knicks and dings? You could try an old trick I used on my racing snowmobiles. You take your power steering pulley and a fine grit sand paper and sand the pulley where the belt rides in. Not like your doing a counter top or anything just enough to scuff up the surface. This will cause the belt to grab better. On a snowmobile they have centrifical clutches and when your on the throttle racing you want it to grab earlier. Hope this helps out.

my belts where squeaking like no tomorrow and it was because of some oil that had gotten on them from when i was changing it.

I've seen spray cans that claim it gets rid of belt squeal at auto parts stores. Never used it so I don't know how good of a job it does. To me that's a bandaid to a bigger problem though. Are the belt pullies aligned?
