I dont know what im supposed to do here. Ive tried new, welded and one that worked with the same 2600 pp for 2 years and it just gave up today. I was getting everything together to go to the track today and of course this bullshit happens. I have to have a car to get to work. Anyone else had this many problems out of theirs ?

are you sure it is the clutch pedal assembly...I have had two awd dsms, one with 120k and one with 160k, and I never had a problem with the clutch pedal assembly. It has always been lost stroke due to clutch fork age and bending. Make sure you check everything else out.

After a while the clutch pedal assemblies will develop slop in the pedal, where you put your foot under the pedal and can pull it up. The last one it was just the stupid bolt came loose on the end of the assembly. I replaced it just because I already had it pulled out. The new one has all metal bushings and got welded the right way so I dont see it crapping out anytime soon hopefully.

There are some design flaws in the assembly where the clutch bracket bolts to the shaft. That square hole wears and allows freeplay in the pedal http://www.taboospeedshop.com/clutch_pedal_assembly.htm As Taboo says, welding it is the only real soultion especially if you're upgrading the clutch.

If you aren't getting proper pedal RETURN then the spring may be at fault. I cut off my coiled return spring (see diagram on Taboo's page linked above) and used a long tension spring to the existing hole in the clutch pedal. This is the same way the N/A cars are setup. I don't know why Mitsu used different methods but I've never had any issues since I changed mine 4 or 5 years ago. The pedal comes all the way up all the time. :thumb:
