free mod restricter mods

I saw a 91 Eagle talon TSi yesterday that had one of the tubes on the Boost Control Solenoid Covered up by a piece of rubber. What is that doing... and is that a good thing?

With the BCS and hacking off my muffler I was tapping 15psi regularly. I think the extra fuel killed my FPS, other than that, no problems. I've since replaced the BCS with an MBC@15psi with no probs.

If you break the BCS, your problems could be severe, so just be easy with the drywall screw when you do it.

OK thanks for all the advice fellas. Well, i am going to add a new adapter and filter and boost controller so will it still make any difference whether i take out or leave in the restrictor?

I can't boost past 10-11psi. I just done the bcs free mod......I am still htting the same amount of boost.I know its not my boost guage because it feels just the same. I got all the hoses hooked up the same and the electrical connector is in there just the same.THe connector did have some gooey stuff coating it....do you think that may be the problem or what? I am so confused and frustrated?

also I have no boost controller....just egt guage and boost guage..... plus my mods in my sig

Well, if you read the BCS removal procedures thoroughly, you'll notice that it states that in some cases, there are no gains whatsoever.

My suggestion would be to spend acouple bucks and get a boost control or make one yourself. Then you can turn it up to 14-15 psi.:thumb:

unhooked the wastegate and it shot like a rocket 15-18 psi before i could even let off the gas.I believe the bcs is shot.Anyways.....I need a manual boost controller at a good price. Any takers?

Alright i was reading in on free mods to improve stock turbo boost. I was reading this page about the bcs. Says something about reversing plugs to add extra 2 lbs of boost on stock turbos. Does anyone know exactly what it is and how to do this mod?

Thanks>>

when a MBC is added you are only able to run high octane fuel (92) I believe, do you have to run high octane fuel with just removing the rubber ring inside the stock bcs.

What is everyone's opinion on the BCS mod and what are its upsides/downsides?

Mine's out, but I went to a 1G BOV and a K&N (in the factory airbox) at the same time. I don't know if the BCS restrictor removal made any difference or not, but the collection of things got me a good 8hp on the assometer.

I did it with just an intake and a boost gauge and I didn't see any difference in boost levels afterwards, about 14-15 psi before and after.

He's driving an early 1g, people.
It WILL work gloriously on 1g cars WITH free mods done.

You can put it back in after you pull it out.

I've removed mine on the Laser. I now run 14 psi. That's with K&N filter, cut up air can and removed silencer. It was VERY worth it for me. :thumb:

Make sure you have a boost gauge before you do this. (although I did this before I installed the boost gauge  ) You shouldn't go higher than 15 psi if your entire intake system is in TOP shape.

QUICK QUESTION,

SHOULD I GET A BOOST GADGE BEFORE I MODIFY MY BCS (TAKE OUT THE RESTRICTOR?) OR IS IT SAFE TO DO IT? :thumb: :laser:

I would buy one before anything else outside of an air filter, but I think you would be alright, it doesn't increase the boost alot.
