After browsing this site for a while I came across the stage 0 tech guide. Very useful info in there and I decided to remove the BCS restrictor tonight after reading it. Took me maybe 10 minutes tops. I really can tell a difference! My car is 100% stock. I really think my stock boost gauge works correctly because before I did this mod the needle was right at where 11psi would be at full boost. And now after I removed the restrictor, the needle is right at where 13psi would be at full boost which seems correct because I read that it can bump the boost up 1-2psi. But anyways, I'm very happy with this easy little mod and my car definitely pulls harder now. The turbo seems to spool quicker too. Just thought I'd share my experience with everyone. I'm learning quick thanks to this site LOL

A boost controller, air can mods, turbo silencer removal, triple gauge-pod with gauges, k&n filter for 1G and 2.5" turbo back exhaust were some of my first mods to my car

Once I get a job I'm gonna start really modding this car. Just doing little things for now. I actually replaced the k&n that was in the car with an stp paper filter. I hate k&n filters, way too much hassle. My cars 100% stock though besides a turbo timer and drilled rotors which is good because I want to do everything. I hate buying modded cars because most of the time they're hack jobs.

What and where is the turbo silencer?

I believe he is talking about your cat.

Good luck with your build but I recommend K & N filters with the adapter it gets better air flow.

Are you still using the stock intake box? Because I don't think STP has a paper filter in the cone shape of a K&N.

Good luck with your build and enjoy.

Yeah I'm using the stock air box for now until I get some cash flow. The previous owner put a drop in k&n filter in. It was ridiculously dirty and it was either buy the oil kit for $15 or a stp paper filter for $11. I'd rather buy new filters then deal with k&n oil and all that mess. When I start modding more I'm gonna have to deal with it but for now the stp is good. Just my opinion though. Thanks man I appreciate it. I love this car

i was refering to the turbo silencer located inside the mass airflow sensor itself and and you can find the full writeup on it and its function on and at VFAQ.com

Oh I know what you're talking about. I read that can make it run a little lean though which I don't want now. Can't afford a tune
